Beautylish is a cosmetics and skincare vertical with a presence in both the retail e-commerce and wholesale space. Operating across nine entities and international markets, the group runs two segments: Beautylish Retail, a premium DTC e-commerce business, and Good Molecules, a wholesale skincare brand sold through major retailers. Our finance team sits at the center of this growth, using NetSuite as our ERP backbone and applying rigorous accounting standards across multi-currency, multi-entity operations.
The Senior Accountant will support the Accounting Manager in delivering an accurate, on-time month-end close, focused on preparing assigned journal entries, schedules and balance sheet reconciliations, assisting with intercompany and consolidation work, and supporting audit requests. You will also partner with the Philippines team, using a defined overlap window and written handoffs. It is a growth role for an accountant ready to take on a senior title and build multi-entity and international experience.
Responsibilities Include:
Month-End Close Support
- Complete close tasks assigned by the Accounting Manager, on the dates in the published close calendar and suggest process improvement opportunities including NetSuite saved searches and Claude AI
- Prepare recurring journal entries, including accruals, prepaids and reclasses, for Accounting Manager review
- Maintain prepaid, accrued expense and fixed asset schedules; assist with lease (ASC 842) schedules
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations for assigned accounts and resolve reconciling items promptly
- Prepare P&L and balance sheet flux schedules and draft explanations for Accounting Manager review
- Suggest ways to reduce manual steps in assigned close tasks, including NetSuite saved searches and in the use of Claude
- Support the Finance Analyst with actuals for budget-vs-actual analysis
Intercompany and Consolidation Support
- Prepare intercompany billing and management fee entries, and reconcile intercompany balances
- Assist the Accounting Manager with eliminations, FX revaluation and the monthly consolidation in NetSuite OneWorld
- Tie out the AR/AP & Treasury Manager’s bank and subledger reconciliations to the general ledger
Audit and Documentation Support
- Prepare assigned audit PBC schedules and respond to auditor requests
- Assist with walkthroughs and document control procedures
- Document procedures for assigned close tasks and accounts
Preferred Skills, Experience, & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA candidate or interest in pursuing licensure preferred
- 2–5 years of accounting experience in industry or public accounting with hands-on month-end close work; exposure to multi-entity, intercompany, or foreign currency accounting and/or background in consumer products, e-commerce, or retail/wholesale industry preferred
- Experience supporting an external audit and assist in implementing any necessary remediation
- Working knowledge of US GAAP and balance sheet reconciliation standards
- Experience preparing journal entries and supporting schedules for review
- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups); competency in NetSuite (or another mid-market ERP) and OneWorld preferred
- Must have current U.S. work authorization
This is a full time, salaried/exempt position reporting to our Walnut Creek, California office with a hybrid work schedule (3 days per week in office required). The targeted starting salary range is $95,000-115,000; the final offered salary may vary based on experience.
