This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant with 3–4 years’ post-qualification experience who wants to take ownership of financial reporting, contribute to commercial decisions and further develop their career in industry.

The Opportunity

As Senior Accountant, you will take responsibility for key financial reporting activities, ensuring accurate accounts and timely delivery of financial information.

You will work closely with the wider finance team to analyse business performance, support planning and provide clear insights into financial results.

This role would suit someone who is confident managing reporting deadlines, resolving accounting issues and taking ownership of their work.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly management accounts and financial reporting packs.
• Manage key elements of the month-end close, including journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Review balance sheet reconciliations and resolve outstanding issues.
• Analyse performance against budgets, forecasts and prior periods.
• Provide clear commentary on financial results, highlighting risks and opportunities.
• Support annual budgeting, forecasting and cash flow planning.
• Prepare statutory financial statements and supporting year-end schedules.
• Coordinate audit deliverables and liaise with external auditors.
• Support tax compliance and statutory reporting requirements.
• Maintain and improve financial controls, accounting policies and processes.
• Work with stakeholders across the business to support financial decision-making.
• Contribute to finance projects and system improvements.

Your Background

• Qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA accountant with approximately 3–4 years’ PQE.
• Strong financial accounting and reporting experience gained within industry or practice.
• Experience managing month-end processes, preparing accounts or leading audit assignments.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and confidence resolving reporting queries.
• Excellent Excel skills and experience using accounting or ERP systems.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to explain financial information clearly.
• Confident managing competing priorities and meeting reporting deadlines.
• Proactive, commercially aware and comfortable taking responsibility.
