Location: Ontario, Remote, with regular travel to offices and client locations across the Greater Toronto Area and surrounding regions.

About the Opportunity

Our client, a growing accounting and advisory firm, is looking for a CPA-designated Senior Accountant or Senior Financial Analyst to help strengthen financial operations and support continued growth through acquisitions. Working directly with the owner, you’ll combine technical accounting expertise with financial analysis and review, process improvement, and hands-on operational support.

This is a practical role for someone who enjoys both doing the work and improving how it gets done. Some days you will review client files or resolve an accounting question, on others, you will document a workflow, support a new acquisition, or help implement a new process or system.

Your Responsibilities

• Assist the President with financial and operational due diligence, including reviewing accounting records, workflows, staffing responsibilities and service delivery.
• Review client files for accuracy, completeness and appropriate supporting documentation.
• Respond to client questions clearly and professionally, escalating complex technical matters or significant concerns to the President.
• You’ll translate financial results, trends, and variances into practical insights that support business decisions.
• You’ll assess the business workflows, develop standardized processes, controls, templates, documentation and centralize functions.
• You’ll support the financial and operational integration of newly acquired accounting and bookkeeping practices.
• You’ll partner with bookkeeping teams to improve file quality, resolve process gaps, and strengthen client deliverables.
• You’ll provide hands-on accounting and bookkeeping support during transitions and peak periods.
• You’ll build reporting around profitability, capacity, performance, and other priorities to support continued growth.

Skills and Qualifications

• 2–4 years of accounting experience, including current or previous experience working at an accounting firm.
• CPA designation in good standing.
• Strong full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, month-end close, reconciliation, and internal controls expertise.
• Proven ability to improve and document accounting processes and workflows.
• Strong analytical, communication, judgment, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Comfort balancing strategic analysis with detailed, hands-on accounting work.
• Experience with QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, Yardi, and accounting workflow tools is considered an asset.
• Experience using AI and automation to improve processes, increase efficiency, and enhance financial analysis and reporting is considered an asset.
