Job Role: Senior Accountant (AI-Native)
Compensation range: PHP 95,000 - 130,000 per month + 13th Month Pay
Engagement type: Full-time Employee
Work Schedule: 8 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday
Work Arrangement: This role will initially be
fully remote while onboarding and processes are being established. Over time, the position
will transition into a hybrid setup, requiring employees to
work from the office 3 days per week. Candidates should be comfortable with this future arrangement and be willing to commute or relocate to ensure they can meet the onsite requirement.

Who The Client Is: An AI-native boutique accounting and advisory firm headquartered in Brisbane, with operations across Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, the UK, and the USA, supported by offshore teams in the Philippines and India.
They operate across 22 practice areas including International Tax Advisory, R&D Tax Incentive, Virtual CFO/Financial Advisory, and SME Compliance. Their mission is to deliver Big Four-quality advisory services to SMEs and mid-market clients through AI-enabled operational efficiency.
Role Overview: We're looking for a Senior Accountant with solid Australian practice experience to join our team. This role is primarily focused on business tax and compliance, with responsibility for managing work from raw financial data through to review-ready files while identifying issues and providing practical solutions.
You'll also gain exposure to advisory work, including management reporting, financial modelling, and other specialist projects. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys compliance work, is eager to broaden their advisory skills, and embraces AI to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review Australian tax returns and financial statements for companies, trusts, partnerships, individuals, and SMSFs
- Manage jobs from raw client data through to review-ready work with minimal supervision
- Prepare and lodge Australian compliance obligations, including BAS, IAS, GST, PAYG, FBT, STP, payroll tax, ASIC annual reviews, and related requirements
- Prepare and review SMSF financial statements, annual returns, member reporting, pensions, TBAR, and support the audit process
- Identify tax and compliance issues and recommend practical solutions
- Prepare monthly and quarterly management reports with commentary for clients
- Assist with budgets, cash flow forecasts, financial modelling, and scenario analysis
- Support the preparation of R&D Tax Incentive claims and other specialist compliance work
- Use AI tools to improve workpaper preparation, data extraction, reconciliations, and drafting while maintaining quality and accuracy
- Work closely with the team to deliver high-quality outcomes and continuously improve processes
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years' experience in an Australian accounting practice or Australian-focused offshore accounting team
- Strong Australian tax and compliance experience across companies, trusts, partnerships, individuals, and SMSFs
- CPA, CA, or equivalent professional qualification
- Proven experience preparing financial statements and tax returns across the full Australian business compliance suite
- Hands-on experience preparing SMSF financial statements and annual returns
- Exposure to management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, or financial modelling, with an interest in developing advisory skills
- Advanced Excel skills, including tax reconciliations and deferred tax
- Proficiency in Xero and Xero Practice Manager (XPM) is essential. Experience with SMSF software is highly regarded
- Demonstrated use of AI tools in day-to-day accounting work, such as workpaper preparation, reconciliations, data extraction, and document drafting
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while managing multiple deadlines
