Your Role at Cabot
Cabot’s Port Jérôme plant in Normandy, France, is part of a global manufacturing network and produces carbon black, serving a wide range of industrial applications.
With a dedicated team of 90 employees, we operate and continuously improve the site, with a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and sustainability.

We are currently looking for an Experienced Accountant / Deputy Finance Manager to join the Port Jérôme Finance Team.
In this role, you will be responsible for a broad range of accounting, tax, and budgeting activities. You will have primary responsibility for the commercial entity, Cabot France, through which all of Cabot’s sales in France are conducted. You will also provide accounting and financial support to the Port Jérôme industrial entity.
You will work closely with the Shared Services Center based in Latvia and the site's operational teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting, in line with Cabot’s global standards and applicable accounting principles.
You will also contribute to strategic initiatives and continuous improvement projects.

How You Will Make an Impact
- Participate in the site’s accounting activities, working closely with the Shared Services Center team and under the responsibility of the local Accounting & Finance Manager.
- Participate in the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
- Prepare statutory accounts (local tax package, financial report appendices), tax and customs declarations, as well as VAT returns, in compliance with French regulations.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements while maintaining a robust internal control environment (SOX – Sarbanes-Oxley).
- Participate in the annual budgeting and monthly forecasting cycles, working closely with finance teams and operational leaders to align financial plans with strategic objectives.
- Act as a back-up for the Site Finance Manager during periods of absence, particularly for monthly closing activities and tax filings.
- Support the plant’s operational departments in process digitalization initiatives.
What You Will Bring to Cabot
- A master’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; a professional accounting qualification such as the DSCG would be an advantage.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in finance (accounting and/or financial audit), ideally gained in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of French accounting standards and good knowledge of US GAAP (Deferred Taxes).
- Strong understanding of local requirements relating to accounting, taxation, and statutory reporting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills and rigor, with the ability to manage priorities effectively.
- Good proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Fluency in French and English.

Annual salary of €47,000 to €64,000, The final salary offer will depend on the candidate’s previous experience and qualifications. – Full-time permanent contract
