Senior Accountant, Government Audit

UNIVERSAL Technologies is seeking a Senior Accountant (Audit) for a hybrid contract position in Flushing, NY. This is a 2-year, full-time contract (W2 hourly, 40 hours per week) on a client engagement, with on-site work in Flushing, NY and remote work as directed by the client's project manager. You will perform government audits of consultant and expense contract payments, including overhead audits, in line with applicable municipal directives and the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).

SCOPE OF SERVICES:
- Review, analyze, and audit the processing of payment vouchers on consultant and expense contracts.
- Perform overhead audits in line with FAR guidelines, as needed.
- Conduct site visits as needed.
- Provide findings and recommendations to the client's audit staff.

MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
Note: Candidates who do not have the mandatory skills will not be considered.
- One of the following: (1) a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting or Finance plus five (5) years of auditing or accounting experience; or (2) a New York State CPA license plus two (2) years of auditing or accounting experience.
- Preferred: two (2) years of City or State financial auditing experience.
