Job Title: Senior Accountant, Lending & Client Services
Reports To: Financial Controller
Status: Full-time, Exempt
Location: Remote, with a strong preference for candidates based in Colorado
Background
Collective Clean Energy Fund (CCEF) is a nonprofit investment fund that utilizes and leverages mission-driven capital to fill financing gaps in various clean energy markets, including Colorado. CCEF operates on the “Green Bank” model and identifies unserved and underserved clean energy opportunities and works with a variety of stakeholders to structure finance solutions to bring those opportunities to fruition.
CCEF is seeking intelligent, energetic, and high-integrity individuals with a shared passion for clean energy, addressing solutions to climate change, and making a positive impact in the lives of people across Colorado and beyond. At CCEF, we value innovative thinking, a “no challenge is too big” attitude, treating everyone with dignity and respect, applying introspection in the pursuit of growth, establishing a balanced life, and making deep connections with a diverse and inclusive set of humans and stakeholders that challenge natural thought patterns. We sincerely want to change the world for the better and grow as individuals and professionals in the process. If this speaks to you, and you’re compelled by our vision and share these values, then we want to get to know you.
Summary of Position
The Senior Accountant, Loan Servicing is responsible for the accounting and loan servicing functions that keep CCEF’s lending portfolio accurate and up to date. This is a hands-on role for an accountant who has also worked in loan servicing and understands both sides: how a loan is booked and serviced, and how that activity flows through the general ledger and financial statements.
On the servicing side, the Senior Accountant, Loan Servicing will process borrower payments, prepare and send loan and payment statements, and track payment activity across the portfolio. Our borrowers include clean energy developers, small businesses, and community organizations such as affordable housing providers, so accurate and timely servicing directly affects the relationships our lending team manages. Experience with Sage (accounting platform) and DownHome Solutions (loan management platform) is preferred but not required.
On the accounting side, the Senior Accountant, Loan Servicing will prepare and analyze income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and payment reports; reconcile the general ledger; manage accrual entries; and prepare complex statements and invoices for partners. The Senior Accountant, Loan Servicing will provide support for internal and external auditors and keep CCEF current on accounting regulations and practices.
The ideal candidate has a background in mortgage banking or loan servicing combined with public or corporate accounting experience. You should be precise with numbers, comfortable working independently, and able to meet deadlines without close supervision. You will work closely with our lending and leadership teams, so you need to be able to explain financial information clearly to people who are not accountants.
Equal Opportunity
CCEF is an “at-will” employer and an equal employment organization. We are committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and respectful workplace where all individuals are treated with dignity and fairness. Employment decisions at CCEF are based on merit, qualifications, and business needs.
We provide equal employment opportunities to all applicants and employees without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, marital status, national origin, ancestry, age, mental or physical disability, veteran status, or any other status protected by applicable federal, state, or local laws.
CCEF recognizes that candidates may come from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences. If you are enthusiastic about this role but are unsure whether your qualifications align exactly with the requirements, we still encourage you to apply. Your skills, lived experiences, and perspective may bring valuable contributions to our team.
