Welcome to our Accounting Team!
As a Senior Accountant, you will be a key contributor to the smooth running of our accounting function in Poland, ensuring accurate financial records and timely reporting across our subsidiaries. In addition to managing core accounting activities, you will help shape and optimise our processes as we transition from outsourced to in-house accounting.
Key responsibilities:
- Handle day-to-day general ledger activities, ensuring accurate and timely accounting entries in accordance with applicable accounting standards and company policies
- Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports
- Manage bank, intercompany, and other balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring discrepancies are identified and resolved in a timely manner
- Handle payment runs and oversee the processing of supplier invoices and employee expenses, ensuring accuracy, appropriate approvals, and compliance with agreed payment terms and internal procedures
- Ensure compliance with local accounting and tax regulations, IFRS requirements, and company policies
- Coordinate tax compliance activities, including VAT, CIT, and WHT filings, in cooperation with external tax advisors and relevant internal teams
- Coordinate the annual audit process, including preparation of audit schedules, responding to auditor queries, and following up on audit findings
- Support the Finance Manager in developing, implementing, and continuously improving accounting processes and procedures, particularly as the company transitions from outsourced to in-house accounting
- Contribute to the annual budgeting and forecasting process
- Manage the day-to-day use of the ERP system, ensuring data accuracy and reconciliations, and identify opportunities for process and system improvements.
Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Master’s degree and/or professional qualification (e.g. ACCA, CPA) is an advantage
Accounting & Technical Expertise
- 3-5+ years of accounting or finance experience, including a senior accounting role, ideally within a corporate or multinational environment
- Strong knowledge of Polish accounting and tax regulations, with a good understanding of IFRS
- Proven experience with month-end/year-end closings, financial reporting, audits, and tax compliance
- Proficiency in ERP systems and financial reporting tools; Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central experience is a plus
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis
Communication & Collaboration
- Upper-intermediate English with the ability to work effectively in an international environment; German is an advantage
- Ability to work independently, take ownership, and collaborate with cross-functional and international teams
Analytical & Process Improvement Skills
- Strong analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
- Experience improving, standardising, or implementing accounting processes is an advantage.
