The location in Montreal, (Quebec, Canada), is seeking talent to fill the position of Senior Administrator, Core Datastorage. This job is full-time permanent.

About the Role

Join the Infrastructure and Operations team as a “Storage and Backup” Administrator. In this role, you will be responsible for operating, supporting, and improving the company’s IT infrastructure, in both on-premises and hybrid environments. You will ensure that systems remain secure, reliable, and resilient, while contributing to initiatives related to the infrastructure lifecycle, automation, and operational excellence on a daily basis, in collaboration with the IT Infrastructure Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support, design, and continuous improvement for storage and backup infrastructures and related tools
  • Administer and design storage solutions in a large-scale, 24/7 environment
  • Collaborate closely with IT teams and business stakeholders to design and deliver solutions aligned with business needs
  • Lead automation initiatives to reduce repetitive tasks and improve team efficiency
  • Diagnose and resolve complex issues in distributed application and infrastructure environments
  • Ensure compliance with procedures, technical design standards, and best practices
  • Manage activities within the ITIL framework (change, incident, and service request management)
  • Contribute to team routines and participate in operations outside standard hours (at least once a month)
  • Participate in technology monitoring and recommend improvements
  • Draft and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures
  • Administer and maintain Commvault backup solutions
  • Monitor backups and restores on a daily basis
  • Oversee storage infrastructures and ensure their availability

Required Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience as a storage and backup administrator in the enterprise IT sector. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
  • Hands-on experience in key infrastructure areas (networking, virtualization, storage/backup, databases).
  • Advanced expertise in:
    • Block storage / FC/iSCSI SANs (Dell PMAX, HPE Alletra/Nimble)
    • Backup solutions (Commvault)
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies
  • Experience in high-availability environments as well as in the design, implementation, and testing of disaster recovery plans (DR)
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills in complex distributed environments
  • Proficiency in ITIL processes (Change, Incident, and Request Management)
  • Strong awareness of security issues (remediation, hardening of environments)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and French
