Senior AI Engineer – Agentic Development

Dublin (1 day onsite) | Contract: 12 months |Day Rate: €650–€800 DOE

We are seeking an experienced Senior AI Software Engineer to join a global technology organisation transforming how software is developed and delivered through agentic AI and AI-assisted software engineering.

This is a hands-on role focused on designing AI-driven development workflows using Claude Code, AI agents and automation to deliver production-ready software. Working across greenfield and brownfield environments, you will also help engineering teams adopt new approaches to software development.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement agentic AI development workflows using Claude Code and AI technologies
• Develop and deploy production-ready software across backend and data engineering environments.
• Build reusable AI skills, agents and automation workflows.
• Help establish new software development processes beyond traditional Agile/Scrum approaches.
• Work within small engineering pods to develop and deliver AI-enabled solutions.
• Integrate AI-assisted development into existing workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
• Support greenfield and brownfield development, ensuring alignment with engineering standards.
• Drive adoption of AI-driven development practices across engineering teams.

Required Experience & Technical Skills

• Strong hands-on background in Software Engineering or Data Engineering, with experience delivering commercial software products.
• Practical experience using Claude Code or similar AI coding tools within real software development workflows.
• Experience developing agentic AI workflows, beyond basic use of AI coding assistants.
• Strong programming capabilities across backend development, data engineering or application development.
• Experience with cloud technologies, ideally Microsoft Azure.
• Proven experience delivering software into production environments.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, automation and modern engineering practices.
• Experience across greenfield and brownfield enterprise environments.
• Ability to challenge traditional development approaches and introduce new ways of working.
• Experience with Snowflake, Databricks or large-scale data processing, OR Java, Spring Boot, microservices or modern backend technologies.

Desirable Experience

• Exposure to agent-to-agent (A2A) protocols and multi-agent workflows.
• Experience supporting engineering teams in adopting AI-driven development practices.

Day Rate: €650–€800 DOE

12-month Day Rate Contract

1 Day onsite per week
