Senior Analyst, AML Compliance – Vilnius, Lithuania
Are you naturally curious, analytical, and passionate about compliance? Do you enjoy understanding how processes work, identifying risks, and challenging the status quo? Would you like to work on global compliance testing projects that help protect customers and strengthen financial crime controls across an international business? Then, it’s time to join Western Union as a Senior Analyst, AML Compliance.
Western Union powers your pursuit
In this role, you'll conduct independent testing and reviews of compliance processes across multiple regions and business functions. You will evaluate whether controls are operating effectively, identify opportunities for improvement, and provide meaningful insights to senior stakeholders that help strengthen our compliance framework.
This is an excellent opportunity for a compliance professional who enjoys investigative work, critical thinking, and operating with a high degree of ownership and autonomy.
Role Responsibilities
Conduct compliance testing and reviews across global departments, teams, business processes, and legal entities.
Assess adherence to internal policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
Evaluate the design and effectiveness of compliance controls and identify opportunities for process improvements.
Review areas such as Know Your Customer (KYC), Enhanced Customer Due Diligence (ECDD), customer onboarding, and other financial crime compliance processes.
Perform detailed research, testing, data analysis, and root cause assessments to identify risks, gaps, and control weaknesses.
Prepare clear and impactful reports, recommendations, and executive-level summaries for senior management.
Engage and collaborate with stakeholders across Europe, North America, APAC, and other global markets.
Challenge existing processes and practices constructively, bringing an independent and risk-focused perspective.
Support special reviews, country assessments, regulatory commitments, and process improvement initiatives as opportunities arise.
Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying efficiencies and strengthening testing methodologies.
Role Requirements
Previous experience in Compliance, Internal Controls, Audit, Risk Management, Quality Assurance, Financial Crime Compliance, KYC, Customer Due Diligence, or a related field.
Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with the ability to assess complex situations objectively.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and take ownership of projects with limited day-to-day supervision.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Confidence to present findings and communicate potentially challenging messages professionally and constructively.
Strong stakeholder-management skills with the ability to engage effectively with colleagues at all levels, including senior leaders and directors.
Curiosity and willingness to understand how processes operate in practice, not just on paper.
Collaborative team-player mindset with a proactive approach to learning and problem solving.
