Organizational Overview:

Our Analytics organization comprises of data analysts who focus on enabling strategies to enhance customer and partner experience and optimize business performance through data management and development of full stack descriptive to prescriptive analytics solutions using cutting edge technologies thereby enabling business growth.


Role Summary/Purpose:

Senior Analyst-Analytics, Consumer Bank is a part of India Analytics Hub (IAH). This is a hand-on analytics role where the individual will independently work across full analytics lifecycle – from understanding business requirements and extracting data to conducting analysis, developing insights, creating visualizations and communicate actionable recommendations to business stakeholders.

The role involves developing analytical solutions in partnership with US Analytics teams across marketing planning, measurement and optimization, customer analytics, targeting & segmentation, forecasting, etc. areas to identify growth opportunities, optimize business strategies and derive actionable insights across customer journey.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform end to end analytics for the Consumer Bank including:
  • Acquisition, Deposit balances and flow of funds , Customer Segmentation and profiling, Product adoption Cohorts/vintage analyses, attrition and retention
  • Support marketing campaign analytics, targeting and performance measurement, test and learn initiatives and quantify incremental impact
  • Collaborate with US-based analytics and business stakeholders across finance, treasury, marketing, product, digital and customer experience
  • Build analytical datasets using SQL/SAS and perform exploratory and deep-dive analyses, identify trends, opportunities and potential risks
  • Develop and maintain KPIs, dashboards and recurring reporting.
  • Create clear visualizations and presentations to communicate analytical findings
  • Ensure analytical outputs meet appropriate standards for data quality, governance, compliance and documentation
  • Ability to generate insights from the data and provide deep dive analysis
  • Deliver projects adhering to timelines, accuracy & compliance with meticulous project management
  • Understanding the requirements clearly and communicate with stakeholders and internal team members
  • Acquire proficiency with different data tools, software, techniques to improve current capabilities and to create new analytics and data science solutions

Required Skills/Knowledge:

  • 2+ years of hands on experience in SQL / SAS with ability to independently build queries for data extraction & aggregation - Comprehend key concepts & processes in Finance, translate them into quantitative attributes /metrics - Ability to Define Methodology, present insights to larger teams and influence decision making.
  • Experience working with large and complex datasets
  • Advanced proficiency in MS-Excel and MS-PowerPoint with superior data analyses and storyboarding skills.
  • Strong written/oral communication & stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven ability to independently deliver Analytical solutions for Business problems.

Desired Skills/Knowledge:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to engage effectively with a broad range of audiences including senior business leaders, other senior analytics leaders, and highly technical talent
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects concurrently with commitment to deadlines.
  • Proven hands-on experience utilizing SAS, SQL and Tableau; Experience with open-source tools such as R and Python is a plus
  • Exposure to modern cloud-based analytics and data platforms such as AWS, Amazon Redshift, SageMaker, S3, Glue or similar technologies is a plus
  • Experience in consumer banking, retail banking or financial services.
  • Understanding of macro-economic conditions

Eligibility Criteria:

Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, or any other quantitative streams with 2+ years of hands-on relevant analytics experience or Minimum 4+ years of hands-on relevant work experience in lieu of specified degree.


Work Timings: :

This role requires the candidate to be based in Hyderabad or one of Synchrony’s designated anchor cities, where we have office workspaces, under our Enhanced Flexibility model. The candidate will be expected to be available between 6:00 AM and 11:30 AM Eastern Time (timings are anchored to U.S. Eastern Time and adjusted locally twice a year for daylight saving). This window is reserved for collaboration with Asia and U.S. teams. The remaining work hours offer flexibility based on business and team needs. Employees may work from home or from a Synchrony workspace in their designated anchor city and may be required to work from the office or travel to a Regional Engagement Hub periodically for in-person collaboration, including business meetings, training sessions, and culture events.
