Te Tūranga | The Role As a Senior Analyst, you will leverage advanced GIS and spatial analysis to help communities understand and adapt to climate change and natural hazards. You'll create robust Python solutions for automating GIS workflows. You'll work with our Resilience Explorer® platform to deliver insights through sophisticated geospatial risk analysis and data visualisation. Kawenga Takohanga | Key Responsibilities Key responsibilities include: · Conduct complex GIS and spatial analysis using QGIS and other specialised geospatial applications. · Develop robust Python solutions for automating GIS workflows and spatial data processing. · Design and implement new analytical methodologies. · Create clear, compelling visualisations of climate and hazard data. · Implement and maintain spatial databases (PostgreSQL/PostGIS) to support geospatial analysis. · Review technical outputs to ensure they meet our quality standards. · Manage and document geospatial datasets and workflows. · Be responsible for deliverables being produced on time Technical leadership · Provide technical mentorship to junior analysts. · Share knowledge and best practices across the team. · Review and validate team's technical outputs. · Guide technical approach on projects. · Work collaboratively with colleagues and clients. · Foster strong client relationships through clear communication of technical concepts. Ngā Pūkenga Me Ngā Wheako | Skills and Experience · Bachelors or post-graduate degree in GIS, Engineering, Geography or related field. · 5+ years' experience in advanced geospatial analysis and Python programming. Python programming experience is essential. · Proficiency with QGIS, and other industry-standard GIS platforms. · Experience with spatial databases (PostgreSQL/PostGIS) · Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities. · Systematic approach to managing technical work. · Clear communication and documentation skills. · Ability to mentor junior technical staff. · An eye for detail.
