What you’ll do As a member of the Global Services Unit, you will be a part of a creative team responsible for all aspects of the ongoing software development from the initial specification, through to developing, testing, and launching. Your focus will be to develop dynamic mobile applications to a high standard, in a timely and scalable way that improves the code in meaningful ways. Also, as Devtech is focused on learning and development, it will be expected that you take active participation in company-wide knowledge-sharing efforts, and promotion of security, quality, and knowledge-sharing culture across the company. Create and maintain high-quality Android applications and libraries using Kotlin Design and implement user interfaces following Android design principles, patterns, and best practices Connect applications to back-end services using RESTful APIs Enhance application performance, focusing on memory, CPU, GPU, and battery optimization Implement and manage offline databases like Room to ensure data persistence and availability Continuously learn and adapt to new Android technologies, frameworks, and best practices to keep applications current and efficient What you’ll need Required Experience 5+ years of demonstrated professional experience in Android development Experience in designing, developing, and implementing enterprise-level applications Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English Core Android Development Extensive knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) using Java and/or Kotlin In-depth understanding of the Android SDK, including UI design principles, patterns, and best practices Experience with data serialization/deserialization Familiarity with RESTful APIs and integration with back-end services Experience with offline databases such as Room Strong understanding of threading, multithreading, and performance optimization, including memory, CPU, GPU, and battery optimization Android Security Understanding of Android security best practices Experience with Android Keystore and secure storage of sensitive data Knowledge of secure networking principles, including HTTPS/TLS, certificate pinning, OAuth2, and JWT Understanding of Android platform security concepts, including permissions, exported components, and inter-process communication (IPC) Networking & Connectivity Solid understanding of networking concepts, including Subnet, VPN, IPSec, SSL/TLS, and DNS Testing, Build & DevOps Experience with JUnit, MockK, and Firebase Test Lab Experience with Gradle, Maven publishing, GitHub Actions, and CI/CD pipelines Proficiency with version control systems, particularly Git Nice to Have Experience with Android NDK development using C/C++ What we offer Development program (training & conferences, internal knowledge sharing) Outstanding referral bonuses Private health insurance 7 days of sick leave at 100% pay 25 days of vacation Paternity leave – 15 days for new dads Reduced working hours for the first month after returning from maternity leave Mental health program English language courses FitPass.
