Candidate Preference:
Taiwanese candidates are preferred. We are also open to qualified overseas candidates based in Europe, Malaysia.
Working Arrangement:
Taiwan-based candidates can work either onsite in Taipei or from home (WFH).
Candidates based in Europe, Malaysia, can work remotely.
Language Requirements:
Mandarin is not mandatory. For candidates who do not speak Mandarin, fluent English is required.
Responsibilities

• Design and lead the development of stable and scalable API systems and backend architecture
• Own the integration of internal and external third-party APIs
• Write high-quality, testable, and maintainable backend code
• Work closely with product, frontend, and DevOps teams to drive system planning and feature delivery
• Document APIs and technical specifications clearly and consistently
• Perform code reviews, performance tuning, and issue debugging
• Promote engineering best practices and mentor junior/mid-level developers

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in backend or API system development
• Proficient in backend languages such as PHP, Java, or Python, with experience in mid-to-large scale systems
• In-depth understanding of RESTful API design principles and API security practices
• Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and ORM tools
• Proficient with Git and collaborative workflows such as Git Flow
• Strong skills in system design and debugging
• Proactive in proposing improvements and driving technical enhancements

Nice to Have

• Hands-on experience with API Gateway or microservices architecture
• Familiar with CI/CD, automated testing, and basic DevOps concepts
• Experience with Swagger, OpenAPI, or automated API documentation tools
• Experience integrating with systems like Redis, RabbitMQ, or Kafka
• Experience in technical leadership is a strong plus
