VELOX.LEGAL is seeking a Senior Associate Attorney to help strengthen our presence in Mexico and expand our services across Latin America and North America, working directly with the firm’s partners.

We advise multinational companies across sectors including industrial operations and manufacturing, technology and infrastructure, logistics and distribution, consumer goods and retail, security, and services.

We are looking for an attorney with a strong legal background, business acumen, and an interest in playing a meaningful role in VELOX.LEGAL’s growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage matters independently and handle direct client relationships, working with general counsel, legal directors, and other executives to understand their priorities, carry out agreed-upon actions, and communicate results clearly.
  • Lead and supervise teams and coordinate matters across practice areas and jurisdictions, identifying risks and recommending practical solutions aligned with each client’s business objectives.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate complex agreements (sales, supply, distribution, and services), prepare legal opinions, and review corporate documents.
  • Attract new clients and expand services for existing clients, contributing to proposal preparation, scope negotiations, and securing new engagements.
  • Drive improvements in service delivery through technology and AI, and prepare executive reports and metrics on matter status and results achieved.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Law degree and a valid Mexican professional license (cédula profesional) to practice law in Mexico.
  • At least 10 years of experience providing corporate and commercial legal advice at well-regarded law firms and/or in the legal departments of established companies.
  • Experience handling corporate matters involving operations in the United States and Mexico, with direct involvement in managing those matters.
  • Track record of managing complex matters, leading teams, and working with legal leaders and executives at multinational companies.
  • Full professional proficiency in English and Spanish, both spoken and written, including the ability to negotiate, draft documents, and lead meetings and presentations.
  • Sound judgment, the ability to work independently, business acumen, and a proven ability to bring in new clients.
  • Three professional references from law firm partners and/or corporate legal executives who have worked directly with the candidate, to be provided in the final stage of the selection process.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using AI tools, contract lifecycle management (CLM) platforms, matter management systems, and reporting and dashboard tools in service delivery.
  • Experience developing and applying contract playbooks and improving processes.
  • Relevant postgraduate studies, completed in Mexico or abroad.

What We Offer:

A Senior Associate position working directly with the partners, with responsibility for relationships with prominent clients, room to propose improvements and take on greater responsibility, and an active role in the firm’s regional expansion.

A compensation structure consisting of fixed monthly compensation, additional compensation for new clients and new matters secured through the attorney’s direct efforts, and a bonus based on the achievement of performance objectives.

Work Modality:

This is a fully remote position. Candidates must reside in Mexico, be available for scheduled client meetings, and make a full-time, exclusive commitment to VELOX.LEGAL.

If you meet the qualifications and want to play a leading role in the firm’s growth, we encourage you to apply.

To Apply:

Please submit your resume, including your expected remuneration for this position. All applications will be treated confidentially.
