Senior Associate - Lead Engineer

The Lead Engineering Cloud job designs the planning for the company's cloud platform. Working under limited supervision, this job develops operational plans for the processes and standards of developing the organization's technology architecture through the creation of a new cloud platform design. Key Responsibilities and Duties Collaborate with various stakeholders on the strategic vision for the enterprise leveraging cloud, managed solutions and traditional capabilities; make recommendations on new solutions and technologies Designs and develops new, cutting edge cloud platform within the organization, including secure and scalable network architectures leveraging AWS networking constructs such as VPC, VPC Service Endpoints, Transit Gateway, Route 53, Security Groups, and Route Tables Ensures cloud platform allows business applications to transform into scalable, elastic systems that can be created on demand Performs hardware and software infrastructure updates and identifies improvements with the cloud infrastructure Designs and troubleshoots complex network flow patterns across cloud-to-cloud and cloud-to-on-premises connectivity, utilizing VPC Flow Logs, Transit Gateway Flow Logs, and on-premises firewall logs to diagnose and resolve traffic and connectivity issues Communicates with management to provide updates and ensure integration of new system with existing operations to support the organization's cloud strategy Coaches, reviews, and delegates work to lower-level information technology professionals to ensure high-quality and timely completion of projects Educational Requirements University (Degree) Preferred Work Experience 7+ Years Required; 9+ Years Preferred Physical Requirements Physical Requirements: Sedentary Work Career Level 8IC Additional Information For Posting Required Skills: 5+ years of hands-on experience architecting, designing, developing, and implementing cloud solutions 3+ years of hands-on experience in designing and developing cloud automation, configuration management, and deployment of enterprise-scale infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM, Ansible, and/or Python Excellent understanding and experience with cloud foundational services and cloud governance Strong hands-on experience with AWS networking services including VPC, VPC Service Endpoints, Transit Gateway, Route 53 (R53), Security Groups, and Route Tables Solid understanding of network flow concepts and demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex traffic patterns using VPC Flow Logs, Transit Gateway Flow Logs, and on-premises firewall logs for cloud-to-cloud and cloud-to-on-prem connectivity Broad experience using languages such as Python, Bash, Java, Go, JavaScript and/or node.js Preferred Skills: 3+ Years of experience with AWS Experience working with Linux and Windows Operating System Demonstrated technical expertise in their field, including experience deploying one or more large scale cloud-based systems Knowledge of current cloud architecture, best practices, tools, and frameworks as well as emerging technologies, trends, and processes Experience designing hybrid connectivity solutions, including Transit Gateway attachments, VPN, and Direct Connect, with practical experience diagnosing routing and connectivity issues across hybrid environments Experience using automation and CI/CD tools such as CloudFormation, Terraform, Puppet, Ansible, Jenkins, GitHub, Git, Maven, Docker, etc. with real world implementation AWS Professional Certification (Advanced Networking Specialty a plus) Experience with other cloud providers such as Oracle, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Experience working in an agile environment and on call rotation To be posted both internally and externally Related Skills Agile Methodology, Continuous Integration and Deployment, Data Analysis, Debugging, DevOps, Enterprise Application Integration, Operating Systems Management, Problem Solving, Programming, Software Development, Software Development Life Cycle, Web Application Development _____________________________________________________________________________________________________ Company Overview TIAA Global Capabilities was established in 2016 with a mission to tap into a vast pool of talent, reduce risk by insourcing key platforms and processes, as well as contribute to innovation with a focus on enhancing our technology stack.
