Senior Associate or Counsel, Trust & Estate Litigation

About the Role

A well-established Bay Area law firm is seeking an experienced attorney to help lead and grow its Trust & Estate Litigation practice. You will guide complex matters, develop client relationships, and help shape the team's next phase of growth.

What You'll Do

• Lead complex trust and estate litigation matters from inception through resolution, including developing case strategy.

• Represent trustees, executors, administrators, beneficiaries, older adults, and their families in trust, probate, fiduciary duty, and financial elder abuse disputes.

• Build and maintain client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor and key point of contact.

• Contribute to business development and the growth of the practice.

• Supervise, delegate work to, and mentor associates on active litigation matters.

• Help shape the direction and culture of the practice group.

What We're Looking For

• At least 8 years of dedicated trust and estate litigation experience in California, with current experience actively litigating these matters.

• Strong experience with probate court proceedings, will and trust contests, fiduciary duty claims, accounting disputes, surcharge actions, and related complex disputes.

• Active California State Bar membership in good standing and a Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.

• Experience leading case strategy and mentoring or supervising junior attorneys.

• Leadership skills and interest in helping build a practice, along with client relationships or a network in the Bay Area trust and estate litigation community.

• Authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary range: $225,000 to $275,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Location

Hybrid work arrangement, with San Mateo as the primary location. Pleasanton and San Jose offices are also available.
