Senior Associate - TMT & IP

Our client, a leading multi-disciplinary law firm in Malta, is currently looking for a Senior Associate to join their TMT and IP Law Department. As one of the first specialised technology law practices in Malta, the department advises blue-chip clients on everything from technology, media and telecoms to intellectual property matters, including data protection, technology contracts, EU digital regulation (AI Act and Digital Services Act), computer crime and gaming.

This is a hybrid role offering a salary of up to €65K + performance bonus.

Please note that only candidates already based in Malta will be considered.

Role & Responsibilities

• Handle advisory and litigation matters from start to finish, across both regulatory and transactional work

• Act as a trusted adviser to international operators in sectors including iGaming, technology, automotive, pharmaceuticals, telecoms and media

• Develop and lead one or more areas of specialisation within the department, such as data protection, IP and IP management, gaming regulation, AI and EU digital regulation, or technology contracts

• Mentor junior members of the team and help shape the department's knowledge, processes and use of legal technology

• Build your external profile through publications, speaking engagements and contributions to comparative guides and the firm's TMT series

Education, Skills & Experience

• Fully warranted Lawyer

• 5+ years of post-qualification experience in TMT, IP, or a related field

• An LL.M. or relevant specialist qualification is a plus

• Full professional proficiency in both English and Maltese, written and spoken - non-negotiable

• Proven expertise in one or more of the department's core areas

• Able to work independently and under pressure, results-oriented, and interested in legal and technological developments

• A genuine interest in growing your own profile and that of the firm
