Senior Azure Data Platform Engineer / Architect

About the Opportunity

Powerdata Group is seeking an experienced Senior Azure Data Platform Engineer / Architect to support a major enterprise data platform uplift for a leading Australian financial services organisation.

The engagement involves working within an established Azure data platform and ALTIDA-aligned data framework to uplift, standardise and migrate enterprise data assets, implement reusable data products and optimise analytics capabilities across the organisation.

This is a hands-on delivery role suited to a senior consultant who can operate independently, engage with business and technical stakeholders and deliver practical outcomes in complex enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and uplift existing Azure data platform components.
  
• Analyse and document dependencies across ingestion pipelines, business rules and semantic models.
  
• Migrate and optimise ETL/ELT processes.
  
• Develop and implement Azure data engineering solutions.
  
• Design and deliver reusable data products.
  
• Implement and support medallion architecture patterns.
  
• Develop and optimise Azure SQL database objects and transformation logic.
  
• Support enterprise reporting and analytics capabilities through Power BI.
  
• Perform data validation, reconciliation and quality assurance activities.
  
• Contribute to technical documentation, operational runbooks and knowledge transfer activities.
  
• Participate in governance, risk management and stakeholder engagement activities.
