About us

At Exchange for Change, we are building something the UK has never had before. Working across the United Kingdom, we are designing and delivering a Deposit Return Scheme from the ground up, creating a system that helps reduce litter and waste by encouraging people to return their empty drinks bottles and cans for recycling.

We are industry led and driven by purpose. A national movement with a clear mission. No bottle unreturned. No can left behind.

This is not just another job. This is a rare opportunity to do meaningful work, shape a landmark national programme, and help deliver lasting positive impact for people, businesses and the planet alike.

Your role

As a Senior B2B2C Marketing Manager, you will develop and deliver marketing programmes that influence and engage businesses across the value chain, helping them adopt, implement and champion the scheme within their organisations and through their consumer-facing channels.

Working closely with stakeholders, industry partners and internal teams, you will ensure businesses have the communications, guidance, tools and support needed not only to participate themselves, but also to effectively communicate the scheme to consumers, creating awareness, understanding and participation.

Key Responsibilities & Priorities

B2B & B2B2C Marketing, Stakeholder Engagement & Activation

  • Support the development and evolution of the B2B and B2B2C marketing strategy through stakeholder insight, industry knowledge and market expertise.

  • Lead the development and delivery of marketing programmes that drive stakeholder awareness, engagement, registration, readiness, participation and advocacy.

  • Build trusted relationships across producers, retailers, wholesalers, hospitality operators, industry bodies and other key stakeholders.

  • Develop audience-led communications, activation programmes and implementation guidance that support stakeholder adoption and scheme participation.

  • Support stakeholders in understanding both their operational responsibilities and their role in bringing the scheme to life for consumers.

  • Ensure engagement and activation approaches are tailored to organisations of varying size, capability and resource, from major national operators through to independent businesses.

  • Identify opportunities to maximise reach, engagement and impact through stakeholder, partner and industry channels.

  • Champion a consumer-first approach, ensuring stakeholders are equipped to deliver clear, consistent and positive consumer experiences.

  • Represent Exchange for Change at stakeholder meetings, workshops, forums and industry events.

Communications & Campaign Delivery

  • Develop and deliver integrated B2B communications and engagement plans that drive stakeholder awareness, understanding, registration, readiness, participation and advocates for the Deposit Return Scheme (DRS).

  • Develop and deliver B2B2C marketing programmes that equip producers, retailers, wholesalers and hospitality operators to effectively communicate the scheme to consumers.

  • Create audience-led content, messaging, guidance, toolkits and marketing materials that simplify complex information and drive action.

  • Identify and optimise the most effective channels, touchpoints and campaign moments to engage stakeholders and support consumer participation.

  • Ensure stakeholder communications align with wider consumer campaigns, brand strategy and programme priorities.

  • Work closely with agencies and delivery partners to plan, execute and evaluate marketing activity.

  • Establish measurement frameworks and use insight and performance data to continuously improve stakeholder engagement, participation and advocacy.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Build strong collaborative relationships across Corporate Affairs, Operations, Communications, Finance, Compliance and external partners.

  • Work closely with Operations to ensure stakeholder communications accurately reflect operational requirements and implementation plans.

  • Partner with Corporate Affairs to align stakeholder engagement activity with wider industry engagement and public affairs priorities.

  • Coordinate input from multiple teams to ensure consistent messaging and a seamless stakeholder experience.

  • Help mobilise the resources, capabilities and specialist support required to scale stakeholder engagement and activation activity as launch approaches.

What success looks like

Success in this role will be measured through stakeholder awareness, registration, readiness, participation and advocacy, alongside the contribution stakeholder channels and activations make towards consumer awareness, understanding and participation.
