We are looking for a senior back-end engineer to join our rapidly growing and fully remote team. As a senior back end engineer, you will be laying the foundation for world-class solutions. What You Will Be Doing In this role, you will be responsible for curating the structure of server-side information. You will be writing server-side code and API's to be leveraged by front end engineers and UX designers. The day-to-day responsibilities consists of generating reusable code libraries, optimizing server-side code for speed and stability, implementing security paradigms, and generating data storage solutions. Additional responsibilities include: Attend regular meetings with the front-end team to expose weaknesses and problems Generate re-usable design patterns and code libraries. Implement ongoing security design paradigms and systems Conceptualize and implement solutions for data storage Routinely inspect server code for speed optimization Configure usability of all front-end applications Maintain a stable server with zero downtime Keep a backup library before any large changes to server. Understanding of accessibility and server compliance. What We Look For To ensure success as a backend engineer, you should have advanced programming skills, experience with application development, and excellent troubleshooting skills. Top-rated backend engineers create and implement advanced software systems that perfectly meet the needs of the company. 5+ years of experience as an engineer. 3+ years of experience as a back-end engineer. Deep knowledge and experience with at minimum one (2 or more strongly preferred) of the following Java, Python, .NET, Ruby, JavaScript etc. Familiarity with front-end platforms such JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS3 Server-side experience with SASS and Less. Solid Object-Oriented Design Principles and software design knowledge. Knowledge in databases including SQL, NoSQL, Postgres, and Oracle systems. Understanding of accessibility and server compliance. Large capacity for attention to detail. Ability to meet tight deadlines. Previous design experience working with multiple platforms such as Desktop, Mobile, Tablet etc. Sufficient English language skills, both written and verbal, for success in a remote and largely asynchronous work environment. Must be able to work from 8 to 11 AM US Pacific Time.
