Senior Backend Engineer

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will work directly with the CTO and technical team to architect and implement core data systems. We’re a small team looking to bring on our next team member who is excited about building technology to reshape the real estate landscape. You will be a key member of the early team and will be collaborating with teammates who are also incredibly passionate about building high-quality, design-intuitive, and data-driven consumer products.

Role & Responsibilities

• Design and build robust, scalable data pipelines to support real estate-related recommendation engines, matching algorithms, and other models

• Create, maintain, and expand robust and flexible data foundation that can support various data use cases

• Contribute to database management and optimization of data storage and retrieval

• Consider everything a ‘work in progress’: constantly polish existing features and iterate on feedback

• Serve as a role model and tech lead for the rest of our development

Requirements

• Demonstrated system architecture design experience with real-time, event driven, and batch systems

• Willingness and desire to understand business objectives at a deeper level

• Experience in most of our current tech stack: Python, Airflow, Postgres, React Native, TypeScript

• 2 - 6 years of experience engineering data-driven systems

• Working knowledge of DevOps and cloud infrastructure

• Previous experience working at a early stage startup (pre-Series C)

• Experience working with recommendation systems or content feeds

We are a small and nimble team with a global presence. Founding team based in Austin with additional engineering talent in Canada and Türkiye. We have all gone through the home search process in some form and are building the product we would want to use ourselves.
