Senior Backend Engineer

As we scale, we seek a talented Senior Backend Engineer to join our team and help build the foundation for robust, scalable, and innovative systems that delight our users worldwide. Key Responsibilities Architect and Develop : Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance backend services using modern technologies. Microservices and APIs : Build and optimize microservices architecture and GraphQL APIs, ensuring seamless integration with the Circo ecosystem. Database Management : Develop and optimize relational (e.g., PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB) databases for high availability and performance. Event-Driven Systems : Implement event-driven systems using Kafka or similar tools to enable real-time user interactions and data processing. Collaboration : Work closely with frontend and mobile teams to ensure smooth API integration and consistent user experience. Code Quality : Champion best code quality, testing, and deployment practices through CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks. Security : Implement robust security measures to protect user data and ensure system integrity. What We’re Looking For Experience : 5+ years of professional experience as a backend engineer, preferably in a startup or fast-paced environment. Technical Expertise : Proficiency in Java and Node.js programming languages. Strong understanding of distributed systems, scalability, and cloud-native architecture. Hands-on experience with microservices architecture and event-driven design patterns. Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration tools (Kubernetes). Database Knowledge : Expertise in SQL and NoSQL databases, with experience in optimization and complex queries. Cloud Platforms : Experience with AWS, including tools like Lambda, S3, and Cockroach DB. Problem Solver : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a results-driven mindset. Team Player : Excellent communication and collaboration skills, passionate about working in cross-functional teams. Nice-to-Have Experience with GraphQL APIs. Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and testing frameworks. Experience with social media or content-driven platforms.
