Senior Backend Engineer (.NET)

Role Overview:

We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer (.NET) to join our Engineering team and help us build and evolve the technology behind our global online entertainment platform. We build our platform in-house, which means our engineers have a real opportunity to influence the architecture, technical decisions and products we put into production. You’ll work on backend services designed for demanding workloads, where scalability, reliability and performance genuinely matter. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys solving complex backend problems, cares about writing high-quality code and wants to have a meaningful say in how things are built.

What You’ll Do:

• Design, develop and maintain backend services and REST APIs using C# and .NET.
• Build solutions with scalability, availability, performance and reliability in mind.
• Work with SQL databases, including query optimisation and efficient data access.
• Build and maintain containerised applications using Docker.
• Develop and improve CI/CD pipelines and contribute to reliable deployment processes.
• Write unit and integration tests and maintain high standards of code quality.
• Contribute to technical discussions, code reviews and architectural decisions.
• Collaborate with engineers and other stakeholders to turn product and business requirements into practical technical solutions.
• Identify opportunities to improve architecture, engineering practices, tooling and ways of working.

What We’re Looking For:

• 5+ years of professional experience developing with C# and .NET.
• Strong experience building REST APIs with ASP.NET Core / Web API.
• Solid experience with SQL databases, including query and data-access optimisation.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and containerised applications.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern development workflows.
• Good understanding of unit and integration testing.
• Experience with GitHub or a similar version-control platform.
• Strong understanding of backend engineering principles, including performance, scalability and reliability.
