To power our next phase of growth, we are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer / Tech Lead who pairs strong technical rigor with an owner’s mindset to shape our core web and mobile architecture.

A Typical Day with us:

You will work closely with cross-functional product, design, and engineering teammates across Vietnam and Switzerland. Your day involves end-to-end development, peer code reviews, technical planning, and problem-solving. We actively encourage our engineers to challenge assumptions and contribute strategic ideas—you won't just be executing tickets; you'll be co-building the product.

What You Will Do

• Architecture & Scale: Design, build, and maintain high-performance, resilient microservices for our core digital health platform.
• Product-Driven Engineering: Translate complex user and business needs into scalable technical solutions, focusing on tangible user value rather than just writing code.
• End-to-End Delivery: Own backend feature delivery throughout the entire lifecycle—from technical design and schema definition to GCP deployment and monitoring.
• Engineering Excellence: Drive best practices in Java, Spring Boot, and GraphQL ecosystem architectures, ensuring security, data integrity, and low-latency performance.
  

What We Are Looking For

• Experience: At least 5-7 years of professional backend engineering experience in high-availability environments.
• Core Tech Stack: Deep proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, the broader Spring ecosystem, and GraphQL.
• Databases & Cloud: Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL (query optimization, schema design) and containerized microservices on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or equivalent cloud providers.
• Product Mindset: Pragmatic approach to balancing architectural purity with speed-to-market in a scaling startup.
• Autonomy & Collaboration: Self-directed and proactive, with strong fluency in English (4 skills) to thrive in an international team setup.
  

Working Model & Contract Structure

• Hybrid Working Model: 2 mandatory days in the HCMC office (Fridays + 1 negotiable weekday), with remote flexibility for remaining days.
• Contract Progression: Currently, team members operate under a freelance contractor agreement.
• January 2027 Entity Transition: The company is establishing its local Vietnam legal entity in January 2027. At this point, team members will transition into standard local employment contracts with full statutory social/health insurance, annual health check-ups, and full local benefits.
