I'm working with a fast-growing, VC-backed technology company that's revolutionising engineering simulation through high-performance computing and cloud technology.

They're looking for a Senior Backend Software Engineer to join a small, highly experienced engineering team, taking ownership of scalable backend systems and distributed infrastructure.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work on technically challenging projects, with genuine ownership and direct access to the founders.

💻 What you'll be working on:

• Designing and building scalable backend services and APIs.
• Developing distributed systems and cloud infrastructure.
• Building solutions across AWS and high-performance computing environments.
• Improving data management, storage and processing pipelines.
• Taking ownership of backend services from design through to production.

🔎 What we're looking for:

• Strong backend development experience with Python, Java or C++.
• Hands-on production cloud experience (AWS preferred).
• Experience building and operating distributed systems.
• Proven ownership of production backend services.
• Strong problem-solving skills and an independent mindset.
• Based in Spain with existing right to work.

⭐ Nice to have:

• Kubernetes, Docker or Terraform.
• HPC, GPU infrastructure or large-scale compute environments.
• Kafka, SQS or other messaging technologies.
• Experience with scientific computing or simulation platforms.
