Senior Banner Finance Functional SME

We are seeking a senior Ellucian Banner Finance functional SME to support a higher education client with Banner Finance configuration, processes, troubleshooting, and optimization . The consultant will work directly with Finance and IT stakeholders to assess current-state processes, identify configuration or process issues, and recommend practical solutions using delivered Banner functionality wherever possible. Required Experience Deep hands-on functional experience with Ellucian Banner Finance Strong knowledge of Banner Finance configuration and business processes Experience across areas such as General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Purchasing/Procurement, Budgeting, Chart of Accounts/FOAPAL, and fiscal year-end processes Ability to troubleshoot complex functional issues and identify root causes Experience reviewing legacy configurations, customisations, and workarounds Ability to translate business requirements into Banner configuration and functional recommendations Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with Finance and IT teams Higher education Banner consulting experience strongly preferred This is a functional SME role, not primarily a Banner development position. Engagement: Part-time, fully remote, initially approximately six weeks, with potential for follow-on work.
