Senior BI Developer – Banking (CIB)

Job Summary

BluePearl Consulting is seeking an outstanding Senior Business Intelligence (BI) Developer with proven banking experience to join a Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB) analysis and reporting team.

The successful candidate will have strong technical expertise in Power BI, Dataflows, ETL processes and SQL, together with the ability to work independently, take ownership of deliverables and communicate effectively with business and technical stakeholders.

This role requires a proactive, self-driven professional who can operate with minimal supervision, deliver high-quality reporting and data solutions, and work confidently within a professional banking environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain business intelligence dashboards, reports and data visualisations using Power BI.
  

• Develop and manage dataflows to support reliable and efficient reporting solutions.
  

• Build, maintain and optimise ETL processes to support data extraction, transformation and loading.
  

• Write, troubleshoot and optimise SQL queries to support reporting and data analysis requirements.
  

• Translate business reporting requirements into practical, accurate and scalable BI solutions.
  

• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, integrity and quality across reports and dashboards.
  

• Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to understand reporting needs and deliver appropriate solutions.
  

• Manage assigned deliverables independently, taking accountability for quality, timelines and outcomes.
  

• Communicate progress, risks, technical findings and recommendations clearly to stakeholders.
  

• Maintain professional conduct and presentation appropriate to a corporate banking environment.
  

Requirements

Non-Negotiable Requirements

• Proven banking industry experience is essential.
  

• Strong, demonstrable experience as a Senior BI Developer or in a comparable senior BI development role.
  

• Hands-on Power BI experience.
  

• Practical experience with Dataflows, ETL and SQL.
  

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and without constant micromanagement.
  

• Strong ownership, accountability and problem-solving skills.
  

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  

• Professional presentation and the ability to operate confidently in a formal banking environment.
  

• Availability to work onsite in Rosebank approximately 3 days per week.
  

• Availability to commence on 1 January 2027.
