A highly regarded UK law firm is looking to appoint a Senior Bids Manager to play an important role in delivering its ambitious growth strategy.
This is an opportunity to lead some of the firm’s most significant pitches, tenders and panel appointments, working closely with partners and senior stakeholders to shape winning strategies, not just coordinate submissions.
The Role
You’ll lead strategic pursuits, helping identify, shape and convert high-value opportunities across priority sectors and clients. You’ll take ownership of the bids process from start to finish, working autonomously while drawing on the wider team for support.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing pursuit strategies, win plans and compelling value propositions alongside partners and BD colleagues.
- Leading significant bids, tenders, panel appointments and pitches.
- Challenging and influencing senior stakeholders to focus resources on the right opportunities.
- Strengthening messaging and positioning across bids, pitches and client materials.
- Analysing win rates and client feedback to improve future performance.
- Coaching colleagues and helping embed best practice across the firm.
About You
We’re looking for an experienced bids professional who combines strategic thinking, commercial awareness and exceptional writing skills with the confidence to influence senior stakeholders.
You’ll bring:
- Significant experience leading complex bids, tenders and pursuits. Law firm experience is desirable, although strong candidates from other professional services or regulated environments will also be considered.
- The ability to independently manage the entire bids process, from initial planning through to submission and debrief.
- Experience navigating procurement processes including RFPs, ITTs and framework opportunities.
- Excellent hands-on bid writing, editing and project management skills.
- Confidence engaging with, challenging and influencing senior stakeholders.
- Strong commercial awareness, including experience contributing to pricing and bid strategy.
- Experience supporting pitches, presentations and client interviews.
What’s on Offer
You’ll be joining an ambitious, growing firm that is investing in its Business Development function, with the opportunity to influence major client opportunities and help shape its approach to strategic pursuits.
The package includes a competitive salary, performance-related bonus, hybrid working, private healthcare, enhanced parental leave and professional development opportunities.
