Senior Business Analyst

As a Senior Business Analyst, you will serve as the storyteller behind the numbers, partnering with leaders across the organization to uncover insights, drive financial performance, and identify opportunities for growth. This role combines strategic thinking, financial analysis, and business intelligence to transform complex data into actionable recommendations. You'll play a key role in shaping business strategy through forecasting, performance reporting, and cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced, results-driven environment. Responsibilities: Own & manage recurring financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes Analyze retail sales performance to identify trends, risks, & business growth opportunities Evaluate channel performance and provide actionable insights to optimize results Assess customer, product, and promotional performance to support data-driven decision making Build and manage data models using Excel, Power BI, SQL, & other analytical tools Develop, maintain, and enhance scalable reporting solutions and dashboards Translate complex data into clear business insights and executive-level recommendations Partner cross-functionally with various departments and key stakeholders to support strategic initiatives Monitor key business metrics; supporting business planning & decision making through ad hoc analysis, reporting, and financial modeling Other duties as assigned by management Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Data Analytics, or related field 3-5 years’ experience in analysis Skilled in Financial Analysis Skilled in Business Performance Analysis Expert in Excel & Data Modeling Proficient in Power BI Development Proficient in SQL query P referred Qualifications: Experience in retail, consumer products, toys, seasonal merchandise, or multi-channel ecommerce Expert in Power BI Expert SQL skill Experience partnering cross functionally with Sales, Merchandising, Operations, Supply Chain, & Finance Leadership Skilled in statistical analysis, forecasting techniques, and exposure to data modeling Behavioral Traits for Success: An analytical, inquiring, and critical mind that solves complex problems Enjoys working at a somewhat faster-than-average pace Strong commitment to tasks being completely correctly & on time Careful, deliberate, and imaginative approach to analyzing data Above average attention to detail and concern for the correctness of work Takes work seriously and has a strong sense of duty & discipline Thrives in fast-paced and resulted oriented environment Comfortable making decisions in area of expertise Willingness to follow established policies, processes, and pro Strives for continuous improvement Working Environment: Typical office environment with climate control and sufficient lighting, ergonomic desk/chairs Corporate Office located St. Louis, MO Hybrid in-office work schedule Your Performance Will Be Measured On: Your performance will be measured by your ability to achieve annual department objectives and corporate goals which include but are not limited to the following: Decision-making, judgment, and execution Accuracy around reports and forecasting Ability to assess and highlight variances, risks, and opportunities & recommendation action steps Deadlines, Accuracy, and Quality Ability to offer actionable insights, supported by data, to drive decision making & leadership alignment Strong communication skills; Ability to communicate complex issues in a clear and concise manner Reliable dashboards and reports Ability to create reports that are automated and easy to use, improving visibility to KPIs & business drivers Cross team collaboration & the ability to be viewed as a trusted analytical partner Timeliness Stakeholder Feedback
