Arηs Group, Part of Accenture, is looking for a Senior Business Analyst to support the evolution and continuous improvement of a business-critical decision support platform used in the financial domain for one of its clients at the EU Institutions in Brussels.

The platform consolidates and analyses financial data originating from enterprise financial systems to support the identification, monitoring, and assessment of financial risks associated with funding and investment activities. The solution provides advanced analytical capabilities, enabling business stakeholders to make informed decisions based on risk indicators and financial data.

Role & Responsibilities

• Analyse and document business processes, workflows, and functional requirements related to financial operations and risk management.
• Gather, challenge, and formalise business requirements through discussions and workshops with stakeholders.
• Translate business concepts and financial requirements into clear functional and technical specifications for development teams.
• Model and document business processes, data flows, and system interactions.
• Contribute to business process optimisation and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Perform data analysis activities and create SQL queries to investigate, validate, and analyse business data.
• Support the design and evolution of analytical solutions used for financial decision-making.
• Participate in testing, validation, and quality assurance activities.
• Collaborate with developers throughout the software development lifecycle to ensure business requirements are correctly implemented.
• Provide functional expertise and user support for business-critical applications.
• Produce and maintain high-quality documentation, including specifications, process descriptions, and user-oriented documentation.
• Proactively identify improvement opportunities and contribute ideas to enhance processes, systems, and ways of working.
• Contribute to the adoption of innovative approaches and emerging technologies, including AI-powered tools where relevant.

Technical Skills

• Proven experience in business process analysis and requirements engineering.
• Experience in business process reengineering and optimisation initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of financial systems and financial operations.
• Understanding of financial and banking concepts such as:
  • Foreign Exchange (FOREX)
  • Financial instruments and securities
  • Bonds and positions
  • Valuation concepts
  • Cash-flow management
  • Loans and borrowing activities
  • Financial risk management
• Strong SQL querying and data analysis capabilities.
• Ability to create functional and technical specifications.
• Experience modelling business processes and data flows.
• Good understanding of application architecture concepts and system integration principles.
• Strong affinity with information systems and software development environments.

Any of the following would be considered an asset

• Knowledge of treasury management and lending-related business processes.
• Familiarity with enterprise financial platforms, including SAP-based financial environments.
• Understanding of treasury and financial management modules.
• Experience working with Git-based collaboration and source-code management platforms.
• Exposure to Artificial Intelligence tools and their application in business analysis, documentation, or process improvement.
• Experience working on analytical or decision-support systems.
• Knowledge of financial risk analysis and reporting solutions.
