Senior Business Analyst with Azure DevOps

We are seeking experienced Senior Business Analysts to join long-lived Agile delivery squads supporting strategic change across the Health Transformation Programme and the Legacy Health Estate Change Portfolio. The role is embedded within multidisciplinary product and delivery teams and operates across the full change lifecycle, from discovery and requirements definition through design, development, testing, implementation and benefits realisation. The successful candidate will provide consistent, hands-on Business Analysis capability within a persistent squad. They will work closely with Product Owners, business SMEs, Architects, Engineers, Testers, Change Leads and operational teams to ensure solutions are clearly understood, effectively delivered and aligned to customer and business outcomes.

Responsibilities

• 1. Agile Delivery and Requirements Management
• Work within persistent Agile squads to support the end-to-end delivery of change initiatives.
• Elicit, analyse, document and validate business requirements across Health Transformation and Legacy Health domains.
• Translate business needs into structured epics, features, user stories, process models and functional requirements.
• Create and maintain high-quality user stories with clear, unambiguous and testable acceptance criteria, using Gherkin or equivalent approaches where appropriate.
• Support backlog refinement, prioritisation and sprint planning alongside Product Owners and Delivery Leads.
• Ensure requirements remain aligned to product priorities, business outcomes and customer needs. 2. Business Analysis and Process Design
• Conduct current-state and future-state analysis across systems, processes, customer journeys and operating models.
• Facilitate workshops, interviews and discovery sessions with business and technology stakeholders.
• Produce fit-for-purpose analysis artefacts, including as-is and to-be process maps, system interaction models, business rules, data requirements, functional requirements and traceability records.
• Identify and manage impacts, dependencies, assumptions, risks and opportunities arising from proposed change.
• Challenge and validate requirements to ensure they address the underlying problem and align to strategic goals. 3. Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Act as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams, creating shared understanding of requirements and proposed solutions.
• Work closely with Engineers, Solution Architects and Quality Engineering teams throughout the sprint lifecycle to clarify requirements and resolve delivery queries.
• Participate actively in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews and retrospectives.
• Promote a collaborative, one-team approach across onshore and offshore delivery colleagues. 4. Solution Design and Change Delivery
• Support solution design by ensuring proposed solutions accurately reflect business needs and agreed outcomes.
• Collaborate with Architects and Engineers to define functional and non-functional requirements.
• Contribute to impact assessments, dependency analysis, integration considerations and change planning.
• Maintain traceability between business needs, requirements, design decisions, test coverage and delivered outcomes. 5. Quality Assurance and Business Acceptance
• Work with Quality Engineering teams to ensure acceptance criteria are measurable, testable and aligned to business intent.
• Support test scenario definition, defect triage, solution validation and business acceptance activities.
• Support User Acceptance Testing planning, execution and business sign-off where required.
• Validate delivered solutions against agreed requirements, acceptance criteria and intended outcomes. 6. Continuous Improvement and Capability Development
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of Business Analysis standards, templates and delivery practices.
• Support adoption of Agile, Lean and product-centric ways of working.
• Promote effective use of Jira, Confluence and agreed knowledge repositories.
• Share knowledge and good practice across squads and the wider Business Analysis community.
• Support onboarding and mentoring of less experienced analysts where required.

SKILLS

Must have

• Essential Skills and Experience
• Experience as a Senior Business Analyst within Agile software and technology delivery environments.
• Proven experience working in cross-functional squads spanning Product, Engineering, Architecture and Quality Engineering.
• Strong requirements elicitation, analysis, modelling and documentation capability.
• Extensive experience creating high-quality user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Demonstrable experience supporting end-to-end delivery from discovery through testing, release and implementation.
• Strong as-is and to-be process modelling and system interaction modelling skills.
• Excellent stakeholder management, facilitation, communication, influencing and problem-solving skills across business and technical audiences.
• Experience working effectively across geographically distributed teams and with UK-based stakeholders.
• Practical experience using Agile delivery tooling, particularly Jira and Confluence. Desirable Skills and Experience
• Experience within Health Insurance, Insurance, Financial Services or another highly regulated environment.
• Experience supporting digital transformation and legacy system modernisation programmes.
• Experience with Salesforce platforms, including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud or Health Cloud.
• Experience of APIs, integrations and customer-facing digital platforms.
• Understanding of data migration, data quality and master data considerations.
• Knowledge of governance, risk, compliance and regulatory controls in regulated industries.
• Ability to analyse technical architecture, integrations, data flows and system impacts.
• Experience with Azure DevOps or equivalent delivery tooling.
