Senior Business Controller – Brussels Centre

We are looking for an experienced Senior Business Controller for a challenging assignment in Brussels Centre, within walking distance of the train station.

As Senior Business Controller, you will oversee the financial performance of several departments and act as a trusted business partner to management. You will provide financial insights, challenge assumptions and support strategic and operational decision-making.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and coordinating annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
• Monitoring financial performance and analyzing variances between actual results, budgets and forecasts.
• Challenging budget assumptions and evaluating requests for additional funding.
• Identifying the root causes of financial deviations and translating them into clear, actionable recommendations.
• Presenting and explaining financial results, performance indicators and trends to management.
• Partnering with department heads and senior stakeholders to understand business developments and financial needs.
• Assessing the financial impact of operational changes and strategic initiatives.
• Working with SAP controlling structures, including cost centres, profit centres, internal orders and WBS elements.
• Ensuring accurate and reliable financial reporting while delivering meaningful insights to support informed decision-making.

You are an analytical and business-oriented finance professional who combines strong technical expertise with the ability to challenge stakeholders constructively and influence decision-making.

You bring:

• A master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or Management.
• At least 5 years of experience in Business Controlling, Financial Controlling or Finance Business Partnering.
• Strong expertise in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and variance analysis.
• Experience working in large, complex organizations.
• Advanced Excel skills and proven experience with SAP.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to work independently, take ownership and challenge stakeholders in a constructive manner.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluency in either Dutch or French, with a good working knowledge of the other national language.
