Senior Business Development Consultant – Beauty, Consumer Goods & 3PL

Independent Contractor | Remote | Commission-Based

Created 36 years ago, The PCA Group of Companies (PCA) is a privately owned, global beauty holding company led by its founders and the next generation of the family. Today, PCA includes approximately 1,500 employees across five geographic locations around the world, with a focus on omnichannel distribution, fulfillment, logistics, retail, and brand support within the beauty and wellness industries.

Our portfolio includes multiple subsidiaries, each with distinct leadership, business strategies, and financial structures, while collectively providing an extensive platform of services to beauty, wellness, cosmetics, skincare, fragrance, personal care, and consumer brands.

The Opportunity

PCA is seeking an established Senior Business Development Consultant – Beauty, Consumer Goods & 3PL to help identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities within the beauty, cosmetics, skincare, wellness, consumer packaged goods (CPG), and related retail industries.

This is an independent contractor consulting engagement designed for an experienced business development professional who already understands the 3PL marketplace, has relationships within the beauty and consumer goods industries, and knows how to turn opportunities into revenue.

Rather than a traditional salaried position, this opportunity is structured around business generated and revenue realized. The ideal consultant is entrepreneurial, highly connected, commercially minded, and motivated by the ability to directly participate in the value of the business they bring to PCA.

We are particularly interested in individuals who have experience selling sophisticated logistics and fulfillment solutions and who understand the operational challenges faced by growing and established beauty and consumer brands—including omnichannel fulfillment, DTC distribution, retail compliance, inventory visibility, product launches, subscription programs, warehousing, transportation, and scalability.

Consulting Scope

The Consultant will focus primarily on originating, developing, and helping PCA close new business opportunities.

Key areas of responsibility include:

  • New Business Development: Identify, prospect, develop, and secure new 3PL relationships within beauty, cosmetics, skincare, wellness, consumer goods, CPG, and related retail sectors.
  • Strategic Prospecting: Leverage existing industry relationships, professional networks, market intelligence, and direct outreach to identify brands and companies that could benefit from PCA’s logistics, distribution, fulfillment, and related capabilities.
  • Industry-Focused Solution Selling: Work with prospective clients to understand their business requirements and develop customized solutions involving warehousing, omnichannel fulfillment, e-commerce and DTC fulfillment, retail distribution, transportation management, kitting, subscription fulfillment, inventory optimization, product launches, and related services.
  • Client Relationship Development: Establish senior-level relationships with prospective clients and become a trusted resource in understanding their operational challenges, growth objectives, distribution strategies, and future needs.
  • Opportunity Development: Manage opportunities from initial identification and introduction through discovery, proposal development, negotiation, and execution.
  • Proposal & Commercial Development: Participate in the preparation of proposals, RFPs, RFQs, pricing recommendations, presentations, service models, and commercial strategies in coordination with PCA leadership.
  • Pipeline Management: Maintain accurate documentation of prospects, opportunities, activity, anticipated revenue, next steps, and business development progress within PCA’s designated CRM or reporting systems.
  • Market Intelligence: Monitor developments within beauty, wellness, consumer goods, retail, e-commerce, and third-party logistics to identify emerging brands, market changes, and new commercial opportunities.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with PCA’s operations, transportation, customer service, finance, technology, legal, and executive teams to evaluate opportunities and develop solutions that can be operationally and financially supported.
  • Client Implementation Support: Remain involved as appropriate during the transition from sales to implementation to help ensure that client expectations, commercial commitments, and operational requirements are properly communicated.
  • Growth & Innovation: Identify opportunities where PCA can provide creative solutions that improve speed-to-market, scalability, inventory accuracy, retailer compliance, customer experience, and overall supply-chain performance.

Compensation Model

This consulting opportunity is structured as a commission-based independent contractor engagement.

There is:

Year 3 and Thereafter — 0%
The commission period concludes following the completion of Year 2.

What Is Commissionable?

The Person We Are Looking For

This opportunity is best suited for someone who is:

Entrepreneurial — You enjoy developing business, opening doors, and creating opportunities rather than waiting for leads to appear.

Connected — You have built meaningful relationships within beauty, consumer goods, retail, logistics, or adjacent industries.

Commercially Minded — You understand that a successful opportunity needs to work for the client operationally while also making financial sense for PCA.

Persistent — You understand that significant business development opportunities may require extensive relationship development before reaching the finish line.

Strategic — You can identify not only immediate opportunities but also emerging brands, markets, service areas, and industry changes that could create future growth.

Independent — You are comfortable managing your own business development strategy, relationships, priorities, and workflow while maintaining visibility and accountability around your pipeline.

Relationship-Focused — You understand that long-term business is built on credibility, responsiveness, trust, and delivering what was promised.

Education & Technology

A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Marketing, or a related field is preferred. An MBA or advanced degree is a plus but is not required where significant relevant industry experience exists.

Candidates should be comfortable working with CRM platforms such as Salesforce or similar systems, Microsoft Office, virtual collaboration tools, and other business-development and logistics technologies.

Engagement Structure

This is a remote independent contractor consulting engagement.

The Consultant will maintain reasonable accessibility for PCA and client communications, business development discussions, and mutually scheduled meetings during PCA’s normal Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. Eastern Time business-coverage window.

This availability window is not intended to establish a fixed daily work schedule or minimum number of hours worked. As an independent contractor, the Consultant will maintain substantial discretion over how and when consulting services are performed, subject to client commitments, agreed deliverables, deadlines, meetings, and applicable contractual requirements.

This engagement does not provide employee benefits, paid time off, health insurance, retirement benefits, or other benefits associated with employment.

If you have built a career around relationships in beauty, consumer goods, supply chain, fulfillment, or 3PL—and you know how to transform those relationships into business—we would like to speak with you.

This is an opportunity to work with an established global beauty organization while being rewarded directly for the new business and long-term client relationships you help create.
