The Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Business Development Manager (Utilities) to support a leading professional services organisation in strengthening
and growing its presence across the UK Utilities sector.
This is a highly client-facing role focused on
business development, account growth and relationship management across
priority Utilities clients. You will work closely with senior stakeholders to
identify new opportunities, develop existing accounts and help position
relevant propositions against the key challenges and priorities currently
facing the Water and Energy markets.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced
Utilities professional who combines sector knowledge with strong commercial and
relationship-building capability and enjoys working directly with senior
clients to develop opportunities and drive account growth.
Key
Responsibilities
· Build and strengthen relationships with senior stakeholders across
priority Utilities accounts.
· Identify, qualify and progress new business and growth opportunities.
· Develop a strong understanding of client priorities, challenges and
investment agendas across the Water and/or Energy sectors.
· Work with internal teams and subject-matter experts to shape
propositions and solutions that respond to current market needs.
· Support account planning and growth strategies across key Utilities
clients.
· Lead and contribute to senior-level client conversations, meetings and
workshops.
· Build a qualified pipeline of opportunities and support their
progression through the sales process.
· Share market insight and intelligence to help inform wider Utilities
growth activity.
· Travel to client sites across the UK as required to build and maintain
strong relationships.
Experience
& Skills Required
· Strong experience within the Utilities sector, ideally covering Water
and Energy, although candidates with significant expertise in either sector
will also be considered.
· Senior experience gained within a Utilities organisation, Utilities
consultancy or professional services firm.
· A proven background in business development, account growth, consulting,
customer leadership, operational transformation or senior stakeholder
management.
· Experience engaging and influencing senior stakeholders within large,
complex organisations.
· A strong understanding of the current challenges, priorities and
transformation agenda across the Utilities market.
· Experience identifying opportunities and developing propositions or
solutions aligned to client needs.
· Strong commercial awareness with the ability to turn client
conversations into tangible opportunities.
· Excellent communication, relationship-building and stakeholder
management skills.
· Relevant backgrounds may include customer-focused, commercial,
operational or transformation leadership within a Utilities organisation, or
senior client-facing experience within Utilities consulting or professional
services.
