What we're looking for

A US-based platform company runs five consumer membership brands across camping, outdoors, gaming, housing and boating, all on one shared system. The team is looking for a hands-on specialist to protect recurring revenue by reducing involuntary churn and recovering failed payments across the portfolio.

What You'll Be Doing

• Own and optimize failed-payment recovery, including retry strategies, retry timing, card updates, recovery automation and payment reminders.
• Investigate why subscription payments fail and put strategies in place to prevent avoidable cancellations.
• Monitor and improve recurring payment success rates, working with payment providers and subscription platforms.
• Track payment failure rates, successful renewals, recovery rates and recovered revenue across multiple brands.
• Test improvements to retries, billing configurations and recovery processes to maximize successful renewals.
• Partner with Finance, Technology, Customer Support, Lifecycle and the Data Analyst to turn insights into action (payment-related communications only, without owning broader email or SMS campaigns).

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in subscription billing, payment operations, dunning, payment recovery or a related field.
• Strong practical understanding of recurring payments, failed transactions, retry strategies and involuntary churn.
• Experience with high-volume subscription businesses, e-commerce, fintech or digital memberships.
• Strong commercial and analytical thinking, with the ability to spot problems and solve them independently.
• Proactive and detail-oriented, and comfortable working across multiple brands and teams.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Recharge (highly desirable), though strong payments candidates who can learn the platform are encouraged to apply.
• Familiarity with Shopify, payment gateways or payment processors.
