Senior Civil Engineer

Role Description The Senior Civil Engineer is a part-time remote role responsible for leading and overseeing civil engineering projects from concept through completion. Day-to-day tasks include developing and reviewing civil engineering designs, preparing plans and technical documentation, and coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met. The role involves planning site layout and infrastructure, performing stormwater management analyses, and ensuring compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and standards. The Senior Civil Engineer will provide technical guidance to project teams, review calculations and designs for quality and accuracy, and support the preparation of reports, cost estimates, and schedules. This position requires effective communication in virtual settings and the ability to manage multiple projects while working independently.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Civil Engineering Design and Civil Engineering principles, with experience leading complex infrastructure or land development projects.
• Background working as a Civil Engineer, including oversight of design teams and coordination with multidisciplinary project stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability in Planning activities such as site layout, roadway or utility planning, and project phasing.
• Experience in Stormwater Management, including hydrologic and hydraulic calculations, drainage design, and familiarity with relevant regulations.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution; professional licensure (PE) is strongly preferred.
• Proficiency with common civil engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS tools, or similar) and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly in remote and collaborative settings.
• Proven ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage part-time schedules, and prioritize tasks across multiple projects.
