SENIOR CLIENT MANAGER
WHO WE ARE
CBX is a brand agency built around one simple idea: brands connect businesses to people. We bring strategy, creativity, and industry expertise together to solve real business challenges and build brands that matter. We value sharp thinking, standout work, strong relationships, collaboration, and a few laughs along the way.
WHO YOU ARE
You are a confident client leader, strategic thought partner, and cross-functional connector. You build trust quickly, bring clarity to complex work, and balance client needs with the integrity of the strategy and creative idea. You are proactive, commercially aware, calm under pressure, and comfortable guiding clients and teams through ambiguity, competing priorities, and sensitive conversations.
THE GIG
As Senior Client Manager, you will lead the day-to-day management of larger or more complex client businesses and multiple concurrent initiatives. You will connect client objectives to strong strategic and creative outcomes, maintain account and project health, and help identify opportunities to deepen relationships and grow the business.
- Own day-to-day senior client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor and the primary connection across client, strategy, creative, production, and program management teams.
- Lead engagements from briefing through implementation, translating business objectives, client feedback, and strategic direction into clear briefs, decisions, timelines, and next steps.
- Provide a well-informed point of view on brand strategy, audiences, category dynamics, culture, trends, and competitive context to strengthen client recommendations and creative work.
- Partner with creative and strategy leaders to assess the readiness and quality of work, shape compelling presentations, and ensure solutions remain aligned to the brief and brand strategy.
- Manage account and project health, including scopes, proposals, budgets, forecasts, staffing needs, profitability, billing, reconciliations, receivables, and out-of-scope requests, in partnership with Program Management and Finance.
- Anticipate risks, resolve issues early, and lead clear, constructive conversations that protect the client relationship, the work, the team, and CBX's commercial interests.
- Strengthen client partnerships and support organic growth by identifying unmet needs, developing opportunities, contributing to proposals and pitches, and mentoring Client Services team members.
THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING
- 5+ years of client services, account management, or related experience, including ownership of complex, multi-workstream accounts in a branding, design, advertising, or creative agency environment.
- Demonstrated ability to build trusted client relationships, provide strategic consultation, and present recommendations and creative work with confidence and clarity.
- Strong understanding of brand strategy and the creative development process, from discovery and briefing through production and implementation.
- Working knowledge of scoping, budgeting, forecasting, utilization, profitability, billing, and overall account health.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication, organization, judgment, and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize and lead multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience coaching junior team members and collaborating across disciplines; a bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience is preferred.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
- Clients view CBX as a trusted strategic and creative partner, reflected in strong satisfaction, retention, and repeat business.
- Projects are delivered against agreed scope, timing, budget, and quality expectations, with risks and changes surfaced early.
- Assigned accounts meet agreed revenue and profitability goals, with accurate forecasting, timely billing, and disciplined scope management.
- Client needs and growth opportunities are identified and converted into well-defined, commercially sound engagements.
- Internal teams receive clear direction, timely decisions, and effective leadership, while junior colleagues grow through consistent coaching and feedback.
