Description

Post Acute Analytics (PAA) is a healthcare technology company building the operating system for post-acute care. Millions of Americans transition each year out of the hospital into skilled nursing, home health, or back home, and those transitions too often fail them. Readmissions, medication errors, missed follow-ups, families left in the dark. Our clinical intelligence platform, Anna, gives providers, payers, and caregivers the visibility and workflow tools to get the right care to the right person at the right time. PAA combines deep clinical expertise, connected technology, and industry-leading datasets to help our partners deliver better outcomes, streamline care coordination, and improve the patient experience across the post-acute continuum. Today Anna operates across millions of covered lives, more than 40 states, and many of the industry’s most recognized payer and provider organizations. What distinguishes PAA is how we work. Clinical judgment leads. Technology amplifies clinician expertise rather than replacing it. Client trust is infrastructure, not a metric. Post-acute care is genuinely complex, and we build for that complexity honestly.

The Senior Clinical Intelligence Quality Specialist serves as a senior clinical evaluator within PAA’s Clinical Intelligence Governance and Quality function, leading complex clinical audits, validation reviews, performance investigations, and reviewer-calibration activities. Working within established governance methodology, this role leads complex reviews, conducts secondary quality checks, investigates performance concerns, and produces decision-ready evidence for governance leadership. The role evaluates clinical intelligence outputs, identifies potential patient-safety and decision quality risks, investigates discrepancies and performance changes, and converts findings into structured evidence that supports governance decisions. This position works across SNF, Home Health, Medicare Advantage, and emerging clinical programs.

Clinical audit and assurance

• Audit clinical recommendations, summaries, assessments, indicators, classifications, document outputs, and level-of-care results using approved methodology.

• Assess whether outputs are accurate, complete, clinically supported, appropriately contextualized, and appropriate for the intended workflow, and escalate potential safety concerns through defined governance processes.

• Document error type, severity, likely source, potential downstream impact, and required escalation.

• Meet established throughput, quality, documentation, and turnaround expectations while preserving clinical rigor.

Validation and investigation

• Support pre-launch validation, regression testing, post-launch surveillance, targeted review, and revalidation after material changes.

• Investigate disagreement patterns, clinician feedback, potential drift, data-quality concerns, and recurring error themes.

• Distinguish clinical intelligence or solution-performance issues from documentation, workflow, education, and data-availability issues.

• Evaluate whether performance patterns vary meaningfully across clinical populations, care settings, client workflows, or other relevant subgroups and escalate potential equity or generalizability concerns.

• Recommend enhanced surveillance, remediation, or escalation when evidence indicates increased clinical risk.

Calibration and performance reporting

• Participate in clinical reviewer calibration and help maintain consistent interpretation of audit definitions, severity classifications, and escalation standards.

• Perform secondary review or quality checks on selected audits and complex cases.

• Convert findings into structured data that support dashboards, trend reporting, root-cause analysis, and governance decisions.

• Summarize clinically meaningful findings for Product, Data Science, Clinical Programs, Compliance, and executive audiences.

Cross-functional collaboration

• Partner with Data Science and Product to explain findings and support remediation without assuming ownership of technical model changes. • Partner with Clinical Programs when observed variation may reflect adoption, workflow, or education barriers.

• Escalate potential patient-safety concerns and unsupported adverse outputs promptly through defined channels.

• Contribute to the continued improvement of audit tools, definitions, reviewer guidance, and evidence standards.

How you will partner

• Provide objective clinical assurance and decision-ready evidence while governance leadership retains responsibility for portfolio-level decisions.

• Apply approved methodology consistently and escalate cases requiring additional governance judgment.

• Partner with Product and Data Science on findings and remediation while those teams retain ownership of technical development and delivery.

• Partner with Clinical Programs, which retains ownership of workflow adoption and program execution.

• Maintain objectivity and document favorable and unfavorable findings consistently.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing, occupational therapy, physical therapy, or another relevant clinical discipline, with an active and unrestricted clinical license. Registered nurse preferred based on the breadth of the current portfolio.

• Five or more years of clinical experience, including at least three years in post-acute care, Medicare Advantage, utilization management, clinical quality, documentation review, or related work.

• Strong medical-record review and ability to evaluate clinical evidence, criteria, documentation quality, and decision support.

• Experience reviewing longitudinal medical records and synthesizing information across multiple clinical document types and care settings.

• Experience auditing clinical decisions, documentation, abstraction, criteria application, utilization management, or quality outcomes.

• Ability to distinguish material clinical errors from minor documentation variance and explain potential downstream impact.

• Ability to interpret clinical performance measures such as agreement, sensitivity, specificity, precision, false-positive and false-negative patterns, error severity, and subgroup performance.

• Strong written findings, analytical reasoning, organization, and comfort working with structured data and evolving protocols.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with SNF and Home Health workflows, care transitions, prior authorization, continued stay, or level-of-care review.

• Experience evaluating AI, NLP, summarization, predictive analytics, clinical decision support, or other technology-generated clinical outputs.

• Clinical informatics, quality, patient-safety, data-analysis, or process-improvement training.

• Experience partnering with Product, Data Science, Engineering, or healthcare technology teams.

• Master’s degree or graduate coursework in nursing, informatics, healthcare administration, public health, or a related field.

Physical requirements

The position is primarily sedentary and performed at a workstation. It requires the ability to operate standard office equipment, communicate clearly by phone and video, review clinical documentation on screen for extended periods, and travel occasionally by air or car.
