Our client is seeking a Senior Cloud Architect to support Kubernetes engineering, design, and continuous enhancement of our Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) platforms. This role will help deliver new platform features and capabilities aligned to the Cloud Platform team’s product roadmap.
The ideal candidate will bring strong Kubernetes platform architecture experience across cloud environments and will help drive security, observability, operational excellence, and platform optimization. This individual will also serve as a senior technical resource for incident support, proof-of-concept evaluations, and strategic vendor engagement with Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform.
Key Responsibilities
Architect, engineer, and support AKS and GKE platform enhancements and new capabilities aligned with the Cloud Platform product roadmap
Lead and support security improvements, including container/image scanning (Prisma Twistlock)
Enhance monitoring and alerting capabilities (Dynatrace)
Drive resource optimization initiatives to improve platform stability, performance, and cost efficiency
Provide Level 3 (L3) support during incident management and major production issues
Perform proofs of concept (POCs) and technical evaluations for emerging tools, platforms, and cloud-native capabilities
Partner with internal teams to define best practices, standards, and architectural patterns for Kubernetes platform services
Manage and coordinate vendor relationships with Microsoft Azure and Google GCP
Contribute to platform governance, reliability, automation, and continuous improvement efforts across Kubernetes environments
Required Qualifications
Strong experience designing, engineering, and supporting enterprise Kubernetes platforms
Hands-on experience with AKS and/or GKE
Experience with cloud platform architecture in Azure and/or Google Cloud Platform
Knowledge of Kubernetes security, observability, logging, certificate management, and production operations
Experience supporting enterprise incidents and troubleshooting complex platform issues
Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with resource tuning, platform stability improvements, and cloud cost optimization
Experience leading technical evaluations and POCs for new technologies
Experience working directly with cloud vendors and enterprise support teams
AKS and GKE certifications preferred, but not required
At least 5 years of relevant experience preferred, but not required
