Description


The Senior Compensation Program Manager is an individual contributor role and serves as Verily's subject-matter expert on compensation benchmarking and program execution. This role has primary ownership of job benchmarking across the organization, maintenance of Verily's job architecture and salary structures, and management of Verily's salary survey databases. The Senior Compensation Program Manager also leads the annual merit process and corporate bonus process from start to finish, partnering closely with PACT leaders and business leaders to ensure Verily's pay practices are market-competitive, internally equitable, and executed with precision and a high degree of confidentiality.


Responsibilities


  • Benchmark all internal roles against external market data and manage salary survey databases, structure maintenance, and vendor relationships end-to-end.
  • Lead the annual merit process from initial timeline development and system configuration through final approvals and budget tracking.

  • Partner with business leaders and HR partners to evaluate new roles, recommend job levels, and provide competitive offer and pay-band guidance.
  • Build advanced Excel models, dashboards, and reports to conduct pay equity analyses, monitor compensation trends, and support regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain and update Verily's job architecture framework, leveling guides, and compensation policies to ensure organizational consistency and governance.

Qualifications


Minimum Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, Finance, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of dedicated compensation experience, including job benchmarking, market pricing, and salary structure management.
  • Experience leading an annual merit cycle from start to finish and managing salary survey submissions (e.g., Radford).
  • Experience leading an annual corporate bonus cycle from start to finish.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data modeling.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience building or maintaining job architecture, job families, and leveling frameworks.
  • Familiarity with enterprise HRIS and dedicated compensation tools, specifically Workday.
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation.
  • Strong project management capabilities with a proven ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives under tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional communication and consultative skills with a track record of handling highly confidential employee data with discretion and sound judgment.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $118,500 - $177,500 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
