Senior Consultant ASP.NET

What you’ll be doing

• Designing and building high-quality backend APIs and services using ASP.NET Core and the .NET ecosystem

• Implementing data access using Entity Framework Core, LINQ and SQL, including query tuning and database changes

• Building secure APIs with authentication, authorisation, input validation and appropriate handling of sensitive data

• Writing unit and integration tests, resolving defects, and improving application performance and reliability

• Supporting deployments and troubleshooting production issues using logs, monitoring and root-cause analysis

• Leading projects and epics from solution design through to delivery, on time and to a high standard

• Partnering with tech leads, architects and senior engineers on solution and architecture design

• Mentoring engineers through code reviews and day-to-day collaboration, lifting the team around you

• Improving engineering practices, processes and standards across your engagements

• Contributing to architecture discussions and technology choices, and advising clients on trade-offs

• Communicating clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders, documenting decisions and coordinating delivery across onshore and offshore teams

• Knowledge of the non-life insurance domain will be an added advantage.
  
  

Tech environment

• .NET / ASP.NET Core — backend APIs, services and web applications

• Microsoft Azure — application hosting and integration through App Service, Azure Functions, Azure SQL and Key Vault; other services as required by the project

• HTML, CSS, JavaScript / TypeScript and front-end frameworks where required; backend development is the primary focus

• APIs, microservices, event-driven and distributed systems

• SQL Server and PostgreSQL

• Docker and Kubernetes (AKS) where required by the project

• Domain-driven design, SOLID principles and TDD

• Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices and Agile delivery
  
  

What you’ll bring

• Strong, demonstrable experience building production backend systems in C# / ASP.NET Core

• Strong knowledge of C#, object-oriented design, dependency injection, asynchronous programming and REST API development

• Hands-on experience with Entity Framework Core, LINQ and relational databases, especially SQL Server

• Experience with Git, pull requests, code reviews and automated testing using tools such as xUnit, NUnit or MSTest

• Understanding of API authentication and authorisation, including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect or JWT

• Ability to diagnose application defects, SQL performance issues and failures in integrated systems

• Working knowledge of deploying and supporting .NET applications on Azure; strong ASP.NET development experience is the priority

• A track record of leading projects or epics from design through delivery

• Sound grasp of microservices, event-driven and distributed system patterns

• Comfort with DDD, SOLID, TDD and modern CI/CD and DevOps practices

• Experience in mentoring engineers and raising engineering standards

• Excellent communication and stakeholder skills — you can advise, influence and bring people with you in a consulting setting

• A collaborative, low-ego approach — at Mivada, cultural fit matters as much as technical skill

• Front-end experience with Svelte / SvelteKit, Angular or React is desirable

• Experience maintaining or modernising ASP.NET MVC or .NET Framework applications is desirable

• Azure DevOps pipelines, Application Insights, Docker and messaging integrations are useful supporting skills

• Based in Hyderabad, India, with the right to work in India and availability for agreed overlap with Australian client and delivery teams
