Senior Consultant | High Performance Operating Model

  • Reports to: President of Emplify Health
  • Location: Hybrid, with occasional on-site presence required

The Senior Consultant, High Performance Operating Model (HPOM), serves as an enterprise leader and steward for Emplify Health’s HPOM. This role helps ensure the operating model, governance, workflows, and tools work together as one integrated system from idea generation through measurable results. The ideal candidate is highly organized, process-focused, and able to see the big picture while identifying gaps, building structure, and driving continuous improvement across a complex, matrixed organization.

This role requires strong project and program management skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to build trusted relationships across leaders, teams, and functions. The Senior Consultant will partner with executive leaders, operational leaders, performance teams, and other stakeholders to strengthen alignment, improve execution discipline, and support enterprise priorities.

What the HPOM is

The High Performance Operating Model is the blueprint for how Emplify Health delivers value to patients and customers and how the organization runs itself while staying focused on an engaged culture. The HPOM ensures people, process, and technology work together effectively so the organization can deliver on its mission, vision, values, and goals.

The HPOM includes three sections:

  • Strategic Planning
  • Execution Model
  • Outcomes

Essential Job Duties / Major Responsibilities

HPOM Design, Integration, and Governance

  • Serve as the enterprise steward for the High Performance Operating Model, ensuring its components, governance, workflows, and tools operate as an integrated system aligned from idea generation through measurable results.
  • Evaluate HPOM effectiveness and strengthen governance by addressing gaps and redundancies and clarifying decision-making, ownership, accountability, and enterprise priorities.

Matrix Leadership and Relationship Building

  • Navigate the complexity of a highly matrixed organization by connecting multiple HPOM components, owners, leaders, and teams; clarifying interdependencies; and building alignment around shared priorities and outcomes.
  • Build trusted relationships across functions and levels, using influence, collaboration, and organizational awareness to bridge perspectives, resolve competing priorities, and enable coordinated action.

Execution Excellence

  • Partner with Performance Teams, operational leaders, and project owners to strengthen accountability, execution discipline, and alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Facilitate governance forums and develop practical standards, frameworks, and tools that enable timely decisions, resolve barriers, and improve initiative delivery and organizational performance.

Outcome Realization and Continuous Improvement

  • Embed outcome measurement and value realization into HPOM processes, using leading and lagging indicators to assess performance, adoption, and effectiveness.
  • Recommend improvements to teams, structures, processes, and tools that advance continuous improvement, organizational performance, and impact.

Facilitation and Change Leadership

  • Facilitate executive, operational, and cross-functional workshops, planning sessions, governance meetings, and decision forums that produce alignment and actionable outcomes.
  • Advise and influence leaders and stakeholders to build understanding, adoption, and sustained implementation of HPOM principles, practices, and operating model changes.

Education, Tools, and Capability Building

  • Develop and maintain playbooks, procedures, templates, training, communications, and other resources that promote consistent HPOM understanding and application.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert, coaching and advising leaders and teams on HPOM processes, governance, operating models, organizational effectiveness, continuous improvement, and strategic execution.

Success Measures

  • Increased organizational adoption and understanding of the HPOM
  • Improved alignment between strategic planning, execution, and outcomes
  • Effective governance and decision-making processes across the enterprise
  • Strong facilitation resulting in timely decisions and execution progress
  • Continuous improvements to HPOM processes, tools, and structures
  • Enhanced organizational capability for execution, accountability, and continuous improvement

Certification / Registration / Licensure

  • Desired: Certification in Lean, Six Sigma, Change Management, Project Management, or Organizational Development

Experience

  • Required:
    • Seven or more years of experience in strategy execution, organizational effectiveness, operations leadership, performance improvement, project management, consulting, or related disciplines
    • Demonstrated ability to lead complex, enterprise-wide initiatives involving multiple stakeholders
    • Experience facilitating executive-level meetings, workshops, and strategic planning sessions
    • Strong project and program management skills
    • Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and influencing abilities
    • Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive alignment across diverse stakeholder groups
  • Desired:
    • Experience designing or implementing operating models, governance frameworks, or strategic execution systems
    • Healthcare industry experience in a complex health system environment

What We’re Looking For We’re looking for someone who can bring structure to complexity, connect the dots across the enterprise, and help evolve HPOM as the organization grows.
