Grow with us. Lead with us. At Pioneer, you’ll work directly with executive teams, solving complex problems and shaping strategies that reset what’s possible. Sometimes the work is headline-worthy. Sometimes it’s foundational. But every project earns trust – and earns us the right to take on more. You’ll get the kind of access, challenge, and growth found at big firms – while helping build a company that’s scaling fast and guided by what we value. If you're looking for meaning, momentum, and a seat at the table, you're in the right place.
As a Senior Scheduler and Project Controls Consultant on our Energy & Infrastructure team, you will own the integrated schedule on major energy capital projects across wind, solar, battery energy storage (BESS), combustion turbine, thermal and LNG projects. You will sit on the owner's side of the table: building and controlling the owner's master schedule, holding EPC contractors and vendors to a credible plan, and giving client executives a schedule they can make decisions from.
You are a hands-on Primavera P6 expert and a trusted client advisor in equal measure. The expectation is simple: take the schedule, own it, and make it the single source of truth from development through construction, commissioning and handover.
Responsibilities include:
CPM schedule development and ownership
- Build integrated master schedules (IMS) in Primavera P6 from scope, permitting, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and turnover inputs
- Own the schedule end to end: logic, calendars, constraints, durations, coding, WBS and a written basis of schedule
- Set and control baselines. Process changes only through formal change control, and preserve versions, data dates and an audit trail
- Integrate long-lead equipment, interconnection, permitting, outage and commercial milestones into one logic-driven network
- Structure schedules at the right level of detail for each audience, from executive milestones to contractor-level detail
Schedule management and analysis
- Run weekly status and monthly updates. Validate actual dates, remaining durations, physical progress and logic changes with accountable owners
- Identify critical, near-critical and longest paths, float erosion, emerging slippage and recovery options. Turn them into decisions leaders can make
- Perform what-if scenarios and time impact analyses (TIA). Support delay analysis and claims evaluations when required
- Run schedule quality checks (for example, the DCMA 14-point assessment) on every update and resolve or explain exceptions
- Support schedule risk analysis: facilitate risk input, build three-point durations and interpret P50 and P80 outcomes
- Produce schedule narratives, milestone reports and schedule views for monthly performance reporting and dashboards
Owner's schedule management
- Act as the owner's scheduler: hold EPC contractors, engineers and vendors to a credible, compliant plan
- Write contractor scheduling specifications, review schedule submittals for logic and quality, and recommend acceptance, revision or rejection
- Integrate contractor and vendor schedules into the owner's IMS through interface milestones with named owners on both sides
- Protect the owner's position on baseline approval, float use and time extension requests
Consulting and client engagement
- Serve as a trusted advisor to client project directors, project controls managers and executives. Present schedule status, risks and recommendations clearly and with confidence
- Facilitate schedule reviews, planning workshops and look-ahead sessions with engineering, procurement, construction and commercial teams
- Set up scheduling standards, templates, coding structures and P6 environments that clients can own and reuse
- Train and coach client schedulers and project teams, and transfer capability so it lasts beyond the engagement
- Own workstreams end to end, coordinate across client stakeholders and Pioneer team members, and help grow client relationships through excellent delivery
Requirements:
- 8+ years of hands-on CPM scheduling in Primavera P6 on large energy or infrastructure capital projects, with a track record of building integrated schedules from scratch
- 3+ years managing schedules from the owner's side, including oversight and review of EPC contractor and vendor schedules
- 2+ years in a consulting or client-facing advisory role, presenting to and influencing project and executive leadership
- Delivery experience on at least one of: wind, solar, BESS, combustion turbine, combined cycle or other thermal generation, LNG, or transmission and substations
- Full lifecycle exposure: development and permitting, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and turnover
Primavera P6 (expert level, non-negotiable)
- Builds and administers enterprise structures: EPS, OBS, global and project activity codes, calendars, user-defined fields and layouts
- Manages baselines, scheduling options (retained logic, progress override), longest path and multiple float path analysis
- Applies resource and cost loading, activity percent complete types and steps, and Global Change
- Imports, reviews and integrates contractor XER files; uses schedule comparison and Claim Digger to trace changes between updates
- Builds report layouts and data extracts that feed dashboards and monthly reporting
Scheduling practice
- Deep command of CPM logic, critical path and float management, baseline and variance analysis, and progress measurement
- Working knowledge of recognized standards, such as AACE International recommended practices, the DCMA 14-point assessment and the GAO Schedule Assessment Guide
- Experience preparing or reviewing time impact analyses and schedule recovery plans
