A Bit About the Role: We're seeking a Senior Nonprofit Controller to take on AIOA's most complex nonprofit client work, mentor other Controllers, and help shape the standards that define our nonprofit practice. You are client-facing, highly advisory, and deeply invested in the development of the team around you. Responsibilities & Expectations Client Responsibilities • Partner with CFO and Accountant to lead the firm's most complex nonprofit engagements, including multi-entity organizations and organizations with multiple funding sources • Support the CFO in delivering financial insights, analysis, and recommendations to Executive Directors, Finance Committees, and client leaders • Mentor other Controllers and support the development of the broader nonprofit delivery team • Own audit preparation processes including schedules, reconciliations, and auditor communications • Lead and manage complex grant portfolios with multiple funding sources, compliance requirements, and reporting deliverables • Drive firm-wide process improvements specific to nonprofit accounting and service delivery • Collaborate with the CFO to deliver financial modeling, forecasting, and strategic insights to support client goals and decision-making • Serve as escalation point for complex technical accounting questions across nonprofit teams • Implement and maintain robust internal controls across client accounts • Utilize current processes and tools, including code red alerts, to proactively identify and prevent fraud throughout all client accounting processes • Ensure consistent work quality standards across client mix • Meet or exceed billable hours goals while maintaining service excellence Internal Responsibilities • Complete all internal responsibilities including time tracking, capacity planning, and quarterly initiatives • Actively participate in All In One Accounting's Brand Ambassador program, representing our mission and values • Uphold security practices to protect client assets effectively The Successful Candidate Will Have: • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration (CPA preferred) • Experience in a multi-client or Client Accounting Services (CAS) environment strongly preferred • 10+ years of progressive nonprofit accounting experience with team leadership • Deep expertise in nonprofit fund accounting, grant management, and GAAP-compliant financial reporting • Proven experience leading audit engagements and managing auditor relationships • Track record of mentoring Controllers and developing high-performing accounting teams • Strong client-facing communication skills, with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights for nonprofit leaders and boards. • Demonstrated contribution to process improvement and organizational best practices Why All In One Accounting - The Benefits All In One Accounting offers a work environment built on flexibility, trust, and genuine investment in our people.
