Role/Team overview

Sky is establishing a new Enterprise Assurance capability within the Group Risk Office to provide a consistent, risk-based approach to understanding how effectively key policies, controls and governance requirements are operating across the organisation.

This is a unique opportunity to help shape a new enterprise-wide capability from the ground up, influencing how assurance is delivered across Sky and driving greater visibility of control effectiveness and organisational risk.

In this role, you'll partner with senior leaders, policy owners and subject matter experts across Sky's markets and functions, developing a broad view of organisational risks, controls and governance arrangements. You’ll be working alongside a Technical Assurance Manager to ensure we’re approaching enterprise-wide assurance in a robust, sustainable and consistent manner.

The Corporate Assurance Manager is responsible for driving enterprise-wide assurance across Sky's corporate policy and control environment, assessing whether key governance requirements are understood, embedded and operating effectively. The role provides independent insight into policy adherence, control effectiveness and areas for improvement, helping strengthen accountability and business ownership of risk and controls.

What you’ll do

  • Lead assurance activity across Sky's corporate policy and control environment, providing independent insight into policy adherence, control effectiveness and areas for improvement.
  • Assess whether key policies, controls and governance arrangements are understood, embedded and operating effectively.
  • Partner with policy owners, control owners and subject matter experts to strengthen business ownership of controls and support sustainable improvement.
  • Help shape and evolve Sky's Enterprise Assurance framework, methodologies and standards, ensuring assurance activity is delivered consistently and objectively.
  • Identify opportunities to improve assurance effectiveness through better use of data, insight, reporting and automation.
  • Translate assurance findings into clear, practical recommendations and reporting for leaders and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to enterprise-wide assurance reporting, helping build a consolidated view of control health, emerging risks and improvement priorities across Sky.
  • Work closely with the Technical Assurance Manager to deliver a coordinated enterprise assurance approach across corporate and technical domains.

What you’ll bring

  • Ability to assess the design and effectiveness of policies, controls and governance frameworks, identifying areas of weakness and opportunities for improvement.
  • Expertise in translating assurance findings into clear, practical and actionable insight for stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • Have a strong understanding of corporate governance frameworks, corporate policy management, control environments and organisational accountability.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, establishing credibility and trust across diverse business functions.
  • Confidence to influence, challenge and constructively hold stakeholders to account in support of improved control effectiveness and risk management.
  • Strong problem-solving capability, identifying root causes, evaluating options and driving sustainable improvements.
  • Strong capability to collaborate with subject matter experts across the organisation, building a joined-up view of policy adherence, control effectiveness and assurance activity, and ensuring existing expertise and insight are leveraged to maximise enterprise-wide visibility of control health.
  • Comfortable operating within a newly established function, helping shape methodologies, processes and ways of working while maintaining a focus on delivery, continuous improvement and long-term capability development.
  • Have a background in assurance, compliance, audit or control-related disciplines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with assurance, risk and control subject matter experts to build a broader understanding of organisational risks, controls and assurance outcomes.
