Reporting to the Credit Manager, the Senior Credit Analyst plays a key role in carrying out our risk strategy, weighing situational risk, and issuing high-quality approvals that grow our portfolio. As a senior member of the team, you will also handle more complex files and help support and develop other analysts. This includes:

  • Reviewing and adjudicating vehicle loan applications, including complex and higher-exposure files, by assessing customers’ creditworthiness based on credit history, affordability, and collateral valuation
  • Making accurate and timely credit decisions in a fast-paced environment, in line with company policies and procedures
  • Conducting preliminary validation of application details
  • Communicating with dealers and the sales team about active applications by phone and email
  • Promptly answering and responding to inbound calls from dealer partners about prime credit activities
  • Making outbound calls to dealers to obtain additional information on applications and to negotiate the terms of credit approval
  • Balancing your attention between new applications, resubmissions, and rush requests
  • Handling all customer requests promptly and with service excellence
  • Acting as a point of escalation for other analysts and providing guidance on challenging files
  • Supporting the training and mentoring of new and junior team members
  • Identifying trends and process improvement opportunities and sharing recommendations with the Credit Manager
  • Working in a fast-paced environment to achieve departmental service level goals
  • Demonstrating a strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration

What you bring

  • 3–5 years of experience in credit adjudication, underwriting, or a related lending role
  • Strong computer and technical skills, with the ability to work across multiple platforms
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to spot inconsistencies
  • Solid interpersonal and team-building skills
  • Customer service skills focused on delighting our dealer partners
  • Sound judgment and the confidence to make independent credit decisions
  • Experience coaching or mentoring peers is an asset
  • Motivation and drive for continuous learning and growth within your role and the company
  • Dependability and self-motivation
  • An upbeat, results-oriented approach to teamwork
  • Experience at an auto finance company is an asset

This role is a hybrid work structure, with 50% of your time spent in office and 50% working from home. This could change based on the needs of the business.
