About Meshmerize
Meshmerize builds wireless mesh networking software for moving machines, including autonomous robots, drones and mining vehicles. Our technology keeps devices connected while they move, while radio conditions change, and where fixed infrastructure isn't always in reach.
Our software runs on networking devices such as OpenWrt-based Wi-Fi routers, so customers can build resilient, highly dynamic mesh networks. We're an international team serving customers worldwide, including in Australia, Brazil, Canada and South Africa.
The role
As Senior Customer Solutions Engineer, you'll work with our customers' technical teams to integrate Meshmerize into their systems. That covers network architecture, hardware selection and RF planning, as well as device configuration, traffic optimization and troubleshooting. You'll guide customers and partners through initial trials and their first installations.
This is a senior, hands-on role for a networking expert who enjoys hard technical problems and owns the results. You'll mostly work remotely with customers, with international travel for key trials and deployments. Our product and development teams will help you build deep expertise in our technology and support you on technical escalations, and our sales team handles commercial negotiations.
What you'll do
• Technical qualification: Understand each customer's application, architecture and operational needs, then assess fit and flag constraints before deployment.
• Customer trials: Define measurable acceptance criteria, prepare devices and configurations, and run remote and on-site evaluations.
• Deployment and troubleshooting: Configure Linux-based networking devices and investigate packet loss, latency, intermittent connectivity and throughput issues across wired and wireless links.
• Investigation ownership: Gather logs, packet captures and interface stats, test hypotheses, coordinate changes around customer operations, and verify the fix.
• Development collaboration: Escalate deeper issues with reproducible findings and a clear record of the tests already run, while keeping ownership of the customer case.
• Documentation and product improvement: Record configurations and solutions, build repeatable troubleshooting procedures, and bring recurring field issues into product discussions.
What you bring
Experience
• Substantial hands-on experience troubleshooting customer networks or deployed infrastructure, owning investigations through to resolution.
• Experience working directly with customers and explaining findings, proposed tests and open questions.
• Experience beyond office IT, for example in field deployments, infrastructure networking, technical support or commissioning.
• Established professional experience. Coursework, certifications or lab work alone aren't enough.
Technical skills
• Strong Linux command-line skills and hands-on experience configuring networking devices.
• Solid grasp of Ethernet, IP networking, bridging, routing, VLANs and Wi-Fi.
• Practical experience with Wireshark, tcpdump, iperf or similar tools.
• Ability to investigate an unfamiliar device over SSH: inspecting interfaces and forwarding behaviour, reading traffic captures, and making controlled configuration changes.
• A systematic approach to separating radio, configuration, device and application-level problems.
Working style
• Strong spoken and written English.
• Ability to lead investigations independently, pull in colleagues when needed and keep customers informed.
• Curiosity about how systems work, and resourcefulness when the docs run out.
• Willingness to work at customer sites and travel internationally.
Relevant experience matters more than a particular degree.
Nice to have
• OpenWrt, including UCI configuration and device diagnostics
• Industrial networking or networks for mobile machines
• Wireless mesh networking and RF troubleshooting
• Customer trials or technical pre-sales
• German language skills
No prior Meshmerize experience is expected. Experience with drones, robots or mining equipment helps but isn't required.
Location and travel
• Based in Berlin, Munich or Dresden, with partial home working.
• Travel is a few days per month, including international customer visits about every two months. Most trips are planned ahead, but some may come at short notice, subject to visa and entry requirements.
• Site work may take place in industrial facilities, mines or outdoor test environments.
