Job Description
Senior CyberSecurity IAM and Context Specialist
We are seeking a Senior CyberSecurity IAM and Context Specialist to support a large public sector health system's transition to a consolidated clinical information platform. This role focuses on designing, evaluating, and implementing identity, authentication, and application integration capabilities that enable clinicians to securely and efficiently access clinical systems and connected applications. The ideal candidate will assess current and future-state application access patterns, evaluate integration and modernization opportunities, support architectural decisions, and help prepare clinical areas and operational teams for deployment and ongoing support.
This position requires someone who can design and evaluate identity, authentication, and application integration architectures to support large-scale clinical system implementations. The role will involve working closely with enterprise architecture, IAM teams, clinical information system vendors, cybersecurity, clinical leaders, application owners, infrastructure teams, and operational support groups. Responsibilities include assessing identity integration and authentication architectures, designing clinical access solutions including single sign-on and federation, evaluating application portfolios for modernization opportunities, conducting technical assessments across multiple applications and integration platforms, supporting deployment planning and testing activities, and collaborating with operational teams to transition architecture and integration guidance into sustainable support models. Throughout the engagement, this role will actively mentor and develop program personnel by sharing relevant skills and expertise to ensure continuity and long-term program success.

- 3+ years - experience in a hospital or clinical environment, including understanding how application access, authentication methods, contextual launch, session management, and clinical workflows impact patient care and clinician efficiency
- 5+ years - developing solution architectures and conducting technical assessments involving multiple applications, integration platforms, identity services, and end-user technologies
- 3+ years - working with application owners, clinical stakeholders, technical teams, and vendors to assess workflow requirements and align technology solutions with operational needs
- 5+ years - supporting large-scale system implementations through architecture reviews, solution recommendations, deployment planning, testing, and go-live support activities
Nice to Have
- 5+ years - designing or assessing clinical authentication and access solutions, including single sign-on, tap-and-go technologies, multi-factor authentication, clinical session management, shared workstation environments, and remote access solutions
- 5+ years - assessing or implementing contextual launch, maintaining synchronized context between multiple applications, context sharing, workflow-aware application access, clinical application interoperability, and user workflow optimization
- 3+ years - assessing application portfolios to determine authentication requirements, integration requirements, modernization opportunities, single sign-on candidates, launch-in-context candidates, and clinical workflow dependencies
- 5+ years - designing or evaluating Active Directory and Entra ID integrations, federation, provisioning approaches, application integrations, API integration patterns, and healthcare interoperability environments
- 5+ years - evaluating or implementing healthcare technology modernization initiatives involving legacy application remediation, authentication modernization, consolidated access experiences, clinical mobility solutions, and cloud-hosted clinical solutions
- 5+ years - identifying and managing technical dependencies, architectural constraints, clinical workflow risks, integration risks, and authentication risks
- 5+ years - transitioning architecture and integration guidance into operational support models through runbooks, knowledge transfer sessions, operational readiness planning, support model development, and operations handoff
- 1+ years - leading workshops, facilitating decisions, and presenting complex identity and access management or access-related topics to stakeholders at multiple levels including technical teams, clinical leaders, directors, and executives
- 5+ years - demonstrated technical proficiency with clinical identity and access management, authentication, single sign-on, application context, and interoperability technologies, including Imprivata or comparable single sign-on technologies, OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect, legacy SAML federation, SMART on FHIR, RESTful FHIR APIs, and PowerShell, with hands-on implementation and troubleshooting experience across multiple technologies in large-scale clinical environments
